I very good program I also use to make sure that my computer is safe or viruses once in a while, is called Toniarts, Easycleaner.
This program allows you to manually scan your registry for known problems as well as to scan your computer for uneeded files and duplicates if you wish. I believe you can also view which programs load at startup and the add-remove-programs list, although these definitely exist in a program called winpatrol. I use both of these programs. They certainly helped when i had the spyware problems. Hope this helps
