I have always heard quite a bit about them and stuff and people all thought they were great and all this but never actually heard any of their stuff. Last week in my media arts class we had to watch music videos and someone brought in Sonne by Rammstein and it just sucked me right in. The rest of the class we just watched stuff of his dvd and now I got some of their stuff and quite enjoy it... any other good rammstein songs anyone has to recomend other than Sonne or Du hast? or any other rammstien comments...

Rammstein is goth right? I don't like goth music. It turns me off when they sing/shout like that. It sounds scary too. My cousin has a their cd before. No offense intended. It's just what I think. unsure.gif

Rammstein is not goth. People like you make me sick. You just listen to the media. Oh, the guys that shot up Columbine listened to Rammstein! It's bad! Oh No. They're goth and scream. Have you ever actually listened to goth music? It really isn't screaming.. more moaning.

Anyways, download "Rammstein" by Rammstein. It rocks. smile.gif

"Amerika" is a hoot. I don't understand any German, but I do understand the rhyming couplet "Santa Claus/Mickey Mouse", words which usually don't rhyme in English. Taken as a whole, I imagine"Amerika" to be a damning indictment of American commercialism and provincial attitude. But then again, it could very well be about how much fun Rammstein has every time they come here. Once again, I can't be sure, on account of that pesky inability of mine to speak any German at all.

I am the biggest Rammstein fan!!! Yeah, once you see some of their hardcore music videos, you have to be a little intrigued. Some real interesting ones are Reise Reise and this other one about Snow White and the Seven Dworves. Sehnsucht is pretty good as well. Its really more interesting if you translate the lyrics. If you are into the whole German rock genre, try finding E Nomine and Kopfschuss songs. They're awesome!

Rammstein is by no means goth. They range from talking about sailors to wherewolves to vampires to Snow White and the Seven Dworves. I dont think they fit into any classification like that.

i agree, Rammstein is not goth style, it's because of the guitar riffs that make them sound heavy. they are a cross between metal and electronica. if people listen to the music properly rammstein are just saying the lyrics then break out into a melodic chorus. the only time where they are yelling is never, they sing loudly. its kinda hard not to sing passionately and have the same outcome.

gothic on the other hand has orchestral instruments in it and is more eerie with lyrics that have hidden meanings or subliminal messages...
