You know on some websites (well alot these days), have little custom graphics next to the WebAdress bar?. . .
Not sure if it shows up ina ll browsers, but it defintly works in Opera as thats what im using at the moment.

Trap17 has one of these for example.

Any help on how to change this/ add it would be very helpful.

Thankx in advance

If you know how the icons work on cd's.... its basically the same thing.
All you do is find or make and icon(they are .ico) and upload it to your home directory of your site, in the www or public_html folder and name it "favicon.ico"
(without the quotes)

and thats it.... cool.gif

have fun and enjoy

I do belive there is a tutorial abut them here in the forums. Perform a search using the phrase "favicon" to find them.

Maybe I did something wrong.
What size does it have to be btw?

Itīs not difficult at all. I have one on my site and itīs really easy (even more if you follow that tutorial).

You can also find webs that allow you to make a favicon out of an image without using any program (although you cannot optimizate too much),. For example http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/

16x16 px
16 colors
favicon.ico

place in website root folder

does not always display in all versions IE but you can
put the file name at the end of your URL and see it in
your browser window to make sure it is on your server
(or test using a mozilla based browser)
