I am searching for javascript code which detects audio players installed on clients machine like Real Player or Windows Media player and set the cookie on the selected option so the next time when he visits the same page it opens his selected option page.

i'm not sure of one that will detect them, but i know you can simply have the user click an option box saying which one they have/prefer to use and then set a cookie remembering their choice... just seems like the easiest way to do it. hope thats some help

I dont know how but you can go to certain sites which show media on their webpage and c if they are using any javascript.
I understand that browser would detect it by itself as to whether it can play the media that u sent.. check for header values in the request, it might have some parameter. |
