I cant wait for Olympus. Its been long enough since they started (started Jan 2003, take a look at its progress: http://area51.phpbb.com/statcvs/ ). Its taklen alot of time and they still arent neraly finished. They have enlisted the help of their own community to make small things to help. Like RSS feeds (of topics, forums and categorys, even teh whole board) the reason its version 3 and not 2.3 is because its benn totaly re-written from the ground up.

There are pleanty of other forums out there based on phpBB such as punBB, a very lightweight, version of phpBB, no iamges on its efault skin, all css. roll on Olympus!

hmm interesting, but god that is alot of lines worth of coding, to bad they can't due to copyright reasons if its based on phpbb. hmm it might just rival IPB. (hahaha no).

And yes, I have been waiting 3 yers for it. I havent moved from my pc for that long, Just waiting, watching longing for Olympus It should be out 2006, I hope, It will have only taken them 4 years lol

I wouldn't say it is going to be the best bulletin board software out there, maybe the best free bulletin board software. They are quite far behind the compeditors (vbulletin, invision board) if anything this is just going to bring them close to par.

Olympus is not taking that long if it comes out in 2006 since the people who work on it do this in their spare time. I think that the current version of PHPbb is good so this is going to be really great.

Yea, It may be one of the best free boards but I dont think it can be better than Invionsion Board or VBullitin. But anyway I hope it will be out soon so I can check it out. It would be only good if they would be better than IPB or VBullitin.
