To anyone out there using phpBB, the next release has been sent out.

Report: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=336756

Download: http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php

Additional Download for the Changed Files Only: http://www.phpbb.com/files/releases/change...8_repackage.zip

I found an error!
One of the reports was made by myself. Even though it was not a bug, it was about the cosmetic display on the index page concerning the subSilver template. As people may have noticed, the ''Mark all forums read'' is displayed before you even sign in. This tiny issue has been fixed in 2.0.18. Yay!! hehe rolleyes.gif

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

I've been looking at the phpbb dot com support forums and it looks like the only people having difficulties with the upgrades are those who have lots of mods (or older versions of mods) and those who are trying to skip from older versions ( ie: phpbb v2.0.11) to 2.0.18 (the newest).

Has anybody here tried the upgrade? and how did it go for you?

I am considering the conversion, but I think I'll wait to see what others do and whether they are having any difficulties.

Dark God, I am sure it's good to find your reported error fixed smile.gif Congratulations on getting a problem solved! Every time I think I have found something I thought is a potential bug, it invariably turns out that something's wrong with the way I'm doing things. I've become kinda paranoid about reporting problems, lol.

I'm waiting for Olympus... or should I say I can't wait for Olympus! And the version of phpBB that I'm using on my server at home is 2.0.17 and will probably stay that for a while. I'll probably upgrade when I re-do my site. Planning to take my current site offline and bring it back on around New Year's. So here's hoping there's someone who has upgrading plans more in the near future biggrin.gif

lucentio, a mod is a modification that enhances the bare-bones system that you've installed from the original s/w package. Bit like extensions for firefox... Try the official modifications page. And if you are looking for something more specific, try google. Like they say, remember that google is your friend smile.gif and is more likely to answer your questions immediately and accurately. No offence - it's just that you will find it quicker.

I recently installed the new version on my site a couple days ago. I haven't found any problems with it yet. I have made other people admins, and added forums and catergories, etc; If I find anything I will let everyone know.
