The concept I am trying to bring across is: Why would people buy the same songs once they already have it. It is the same as recording your favourite song and then buying the same thing for a price. People might record it, and there destroys the point of actually buying their CD because they already have got the hits of that particular artists. And when they have the song in the perfect format, they can distribute to their friends, family. So it goes back to the first point I mentioned, why buy a song when you can get it for free? If they want to hear the song badly, they can just tune in to the radio instead of recording it, which violates the purpose. They are getting the song without any authorization which for me is wrong. How would you like it if you sang a song, and people just listened to the radio, recorded it and distribute it among their friends? And when it comes to redistribution, it is a crazy process, the 1st level, 2nd level and 3rd level. 1 person distributes to 5 people and that 5 people distributes to 10 people each and that 10 people distributes to 20 people each, so based on this thesis, we have 255 people who have the top hits, and from there it is their choice whether they want to waste money purchasing the same song but with a higher quality or whether they want to just benefit from this.
In no time, you will have indirectly caused people to stop buying CDs because they can record the top songs. This may not apply to you but how sure are you that people who records these songs will continue to support these artists whom they like. |

I understand your point of view darran, really, but i do not approve that some law, if the same existed here in Portugal or in Europe, that prevented me from making recordings of songs i listen from any kind of media telecomunications like tv or radio using my own wi-fi stereo or personal radio system with recording devices, no one, in a democracy state, can prevent someone from using their own radio or wi-fi stereo from recording whatever they are listening/viewing from the television nor radios, in my opinion, that is absurd and ridicule.
There are millions of people that will almost never buy music cd's nor songs because they can not afford it, so they use radios or the internet to get the musics they want, so, that is not a loss or the destruction of the music industry because they would not buy it anyway, you can only consider a loss or a cost for a company if in fact, people would buy music cd's for a fact, and that is impossible to calculate or even to predict. They want you to pay huge amount of money for cd's if you want to hear them, or else, you you will not have the chance, and so that is why radios exist, so that people can listen and record the songs they like without paying, and as you know, listening to radios is free. Recording musics from radios is not illegal nor a crime as well as listening to them. You and i pay for music because we can afford it, but there are tons of people that can not, so, shouldn't we approve that people that can not buy cd's should listen to radio songs with the ability to record the songs they hear? I approve it 100% |

Well, Lion2 thanks for description and the link. I've downloaded the programme and it's just fine. I've tried a few programmes already and this one seems like I'll stick to it for some time.
By the way I don't think the recording function is wrong under law circumstances if it's used by people who want to record their favourite piece or saving live performance during their absence. If something is good I don't mind buying it and if not I just delete it. The radio doesn't usually broadcast full albums so if anyone wants to keep his favourite band alive should buy their works. The whole idea goes down when people want to get rich using the tool. And these people make the law tough. |

I am glade it is a good program to you elmo, i have also try other 2 programs like this one and they could not even stream at a good speed nor have the recording function and they do not have as many awesome internet radio stations as this program.
Concerning the law, and despite the fact the law is different for different countries and mostly in different continents, i do not think, in fact i am 100% sure, that we all have the right to record whatever we listen to radios and television. There is a Portable version for the ones that do not want to install it or just want to use inside a pen drive, to use it in any computer you use (school, work and other computers).
Portable - Screamer Radio v0.3.8 http://eaz.diinoweb.com/files/screamer/screamer038.zip |

I say, WHO CARES IF IT'S ILLEGAL!!!? lol
I have never really cared if what I'm doing is illegal or file sharing so I download alotta music that doesn't say anywhere that it's legal but meh. This looks like a really nice program and I can't wait until my slow interent finishes downloading it. I think the only way of staying legit using this program would be to record radio programs such as interesting speechs and stuff that is not copyright. All of the stuff on XM radio is copyright so I'm sure that would be illegal but FM and AM have alotta stuff that is not copyright. |
