there are millions of redirecting url that are really short so i dont see why someone would bother with those free domains site when you know you will either get spam or have to buy stuff you dont need.

yep i reckon uni.cc is awesome, or at least it was when i was using it.

also the .trap17.com extension isn't real bad is it?

i've been hunting around for free web hosting, trap17 is definately one of the best.
also if it's just a domain name you are after, try uni.cc or maybe dot.tk if you're really desperate for a short one.

dot.tk gives (username).tk urls, but it has an ad-heavy transition to your specified link page.

good luck.

Well there are free domain names actually
but...
most are with a package
in other words you pay for the website but not the domain name

I'll just buy a domain from Yahoo, I've seen them as low as $1.99 per year.
Which if you haven't realized is extremely low, you can easily get that in a few days/weeks with ads on your site. (even one ad every few pages would do)

Hmmm.....that sounds tempting. But with the Ads.....I don't know. What does the ads look like? Is it on the side like how it is on sites hosted for free on Yahoo Geocities?

I'm halfway through registering a new domain, but I'd love it if I could get one for free but I'm not going to bother collecting referals for EZRewards or switch hosts to move to OneSite.

Heh, I guess I'm going to have to live with paying yearly. Not that much for a domain if you really think about it. Only around 5.95 dollars yearly if I remember right. Of course, if anyone actually does find a legitimate, free way for getting top level domains, I'm all for hearing. smile.gif

I wouldn't use this site because free domain name sites are like those ads that say you are a winner. You need to read the fine print and you will realize that these sites are nothing but scams.
