QUOTE If there was no internet then I would have a life. I would go out and be active doing things like jogging, rollerblading, or football. I would not be the fat slob that I am right now. Bravo, good to at least see somebody not shouting "I love the internet!" or "The internet is my life!". The internet has definately helped many many aspects of life but it makes slaves of people. I enjoy the internet thoroughly but make a real effort to never use it if it's a sunny day or anything. Basicly I try to not let it get in the way of me doing something better. |

Security Focus estimated that around one third of internet traffic went to p2p file sharing. And I estimate that about 70% goes to large files, which include DivX or Xvid files, DVD ISO and etc. And I think half of those files are porn movies. The traffic is really appalling. So it is really a good question to ask: What do you use the Internet for. And think the frankest answer is downloading.
I think most of us have gone through various states being online. From downloading pics, to mp3 and then to software and movies. From 10MB per day to 10GB per day. I was once in the flat of my friend. I immediately spotted out the piles of CD-R there. There are really many people living more or less the same life around the world. We are downloading people. |

Guys/Girls, You would not die of boredom because there had been no Internet in
the first place so you wouldn't have KNOWN there was an internet so you wouldn't be bored...do you see my point? If there was no internet you would have never of known about it so you wouldn't have gotten all depressed (so on and so forth) that it wasn't there...because you didn't know =D. |

i know, for sure, i'd have a job working outside. now i work with computers ... so i'm lucky. i always think i was born about 50 years too late, but then there wouldn't be computers. it's my life at work, and my life, unfortunately, at home ... makes me a bit of a geek, i suppose.
the world would likely be a hell of a lot more simple if there were not internet. |
