I didn't know I was nominated until I was voting. Hahaha. Thanks, to whoever nominated me. I have a question though, does the voting system take note if you have voted to the category already? Because I noticed that once I started voting on the next category, the previous category goes back to the form instead of just showing the results (as it should). I know I'm not supposed to be thinking of people rigging the system by voting themselves more than once (I assume you're all honest enough---hey, I didn't vote in the category I was nominated, just FYI), and I know this is all for fun as well, but being careful isn't bad.

I just want to remind people what the "Most likely to become bill gate's boss" one is. It is NOT who is the mastermind programmer who created marvelous sites for us all to enjoy, because OpaQue would win that hands down. BUT It is the replacement category for Mad Scientist. It states that it is for the person who has written the most creative posts in "My theories, possible inventions etc etc" Which if you don't mind me pointing out: Opaque has only written one topic under that forum >_<. Now I'm not saying don't vote for OpaQue for anything because he definitely deserves to win trapper of the year and quite a few others... BUT I'm just asking you all to remember who spent hours of slaving over a hot computer writing tons of informational and interesting theories in that board... And no I'm not being conceded here. It's the only award I really want to win.

LOL, oh no! Campaigning on Trap 17! Like we aren't getting enough of that crap on the media with the upcoming presidential election! rolleyes.gif

And of course, I'm dissapointed, though not surprised I didn't get any nominations. Those are some tough catagories for a non computer knowledgable person to get into. I thought maybe "comedian" but I'm not really that funny. I try though. Maybe next year there will be a catagory for "Doggedly Determined dumb Blondes" or something to that effect.

Good luck to everyone!

Well I thought I toss a pole update just because we had a mass poller who did some spiking, so I did a house cleaning based on the IP numbers that got logged for each poll. To be fair everyone lost votes to make it as even as possible so if you were winning by like 2-3 votes you could now be losing, however, because I turned the logging on after I started I don't know an accurate count. So with the house cleaning I did it is more or less what has been voted so far.

So if you haven't put in your votes in yet plenty of time to do so.

I must say that I was very disappointed when I didn't see an award for "Disappearing out of thin air only to return 3 months to say that you're back but your really not so you randomly appear 4 months later and make a post." I have a good feeling that I would be nominated for that one.

eh? why not just start from the top? I'd prefer resetting the poll and everyone putting their votes again instead of you saying "I've deducted some points to everyone to make things fair and let's start from there". I don't see the fairness in that. I'm not saying this because I don't trust you or anything, the whole point is you can't just stop in the middle of the voting and just manually alter the votes yourself. Even using the IP address as a basis of you deducting vote counts doesn't prove that someone has entered multiple votes. Other users have dial-up access which gives them the ability to change their IP addresses, others could also use computer rentals, which have a different address that what they've used in their home computers or laptops.

True I could have done that, but again only two polls were affected by the person who did so I could have just edited them and be done with it. However, I did what was right because after going through the polls, some of them had 7 to 11 invalid votes, and of course I had one person from Tennessee, (Yeah I am talking to you laugh.gif), go through most of the polls two at least two votes a piece. Yet it wouldn't be fair either to start it over again, and make people vote again, but taking over the reigns has been a bit tricky just because of how busy I was so everything was done quite hastily. You are right about the dial up users however, I came across very few of those and although some of the numbers we close it still is hard to prove that one.

I have notice that not all polls have receive the same amount attention though, and best guess is that not everyone know everyone and so that is understandable, of course I now non mods have been voting in the reported post poll, but that is fine. So hopefully those who didn't vote for everything can go back and vote in the polls they did not vote for.

You do know I'm from the Philippines, right? Care to specify?

I don't see why it wouldn't be fair to start over again. All it needs is a reset and ask for people to re-enter their votes, this time, hopefully taking into consideration the error that was presented in the first version of the poll. What's unfair with that? I would have accepted your argument if you said it would be hassle to re-vote again. If you were busy, like probably the rest of us who are working already, you could probably ask some help from other members of the forum who would gladly assist you. I don't see anyone who's so excited in having their votes cast, so I don't see what there's supposed to be a rush in making a poll and not taking into consideration the possible worst case scenario. If it would be the case, I'd rather use the forum's poll since it centers to having a username-specific vote (e.g., one forum member can only vote once).

You also have to consider the fact that the total number of votes would differ in each poll, as members, as you've said, probably don't understand the category or they just don't like to vote in the category (like what I did in some of the polls), unless you specify that each member should secure a vote in every category. I don't think these simple rules aren't too hard to follow and I believe most of the members here are quite level-headed enough to understand such.
