Like most that have said before me and I agree with the adds blend in too much with the actual content so It does annoy me when I read a section then continue on reading then bam! I hit the adds.
I think the font in your header is abit too plain looking personally. The navigation is abit too small and dosent look like it fits in very well to the sites design. The sides seem to blend in with the background grey. maybe add drop shadow effect on both sides or a border might help the eyes abit. I think a drop down shadow effect under the navigation would look nice. maybe even a border or something. Good luck on your site. This post has been edited by sonesay: Jan 24 2008, 08:58 PM |

Ok, this review is on... www.freeflashclocks.com
1. You need a doctype! no matter how good your coding is you must have a doctype (jlhaslip will probably also say this). Having a doctype also makes your site look more professional. 2. Your site does not display properly in FireFox. I recommend that you add a doctype then it should work (the 'contact us' button gets cut off, so you'll only see 'con') 3. Too many advertisements. There are too many, people who have adsense and are making some money from it should know that its about where you place the advertisements, not how much... 4. Advertisements are too blended with the rest of the page. If a determined person was desperate to find flash clocks that person might click on every single advertisement about flash clocks, and if you know google, google will start getting suspicious. unblend them a little, place them in places which are viewed a lot and don't forget to remove some... 5. Also, did I forget to mention that you have no closing CODE </body> tag...

Beginning from the top, these are my thoughts on the visual presentation of your website:
The overall layout is nice, the graphic is cool as well. The color scheme is pleasant enough but the section links on the left side are too pale and uncomfortable to read. The mouse-over color is also very dark and somewhat difficult to read. The floating Home image in the center of the screen is out of place. It could be used in a different navigation system, but standing alone like that is unnecessary. In the previously mentioned menu on the left, the link for home beneath the graphic link is redundant and also unnecessary. In this menu you should also consider using the graphic you have for the Home link on all of the links, or rather not at all. I personally think the extended underline is somewhat annoying. The Home link graphic in the left menu does not meet the graphic above it smoothly. I also think the home page is too long by several pages, consider breaking it up. |

Thanks pinyl, for your good review, i find it very sueful to me, nonetheless, there are some some things that i will not update too soon, or change at least, but i consider your review and the other reviews very good, i learned a lot i repeat, thanks again.
I am working hard now, by priorities of course, and the first one is to blend the google adsense ads with my website, but at the same time, i must not use too much ads on my websites pages, and that is just giving too much trouble right now, it is difficult but i am getting good results now, i just hope to get even much more results in the future. After that i will think about it, and then i will write down what i will do here to keep you up-to-date, thanks. This post has been edited by Lyon2: Feb 25 2008, 06:22 PM |

You've redone your site! I saw your website a while back but it wasn't as organized as it is now. Now I am calling your website organized, not professional. In fact, in my opinion it isn't a very good website. Yes it is organized, but the iframe, and all the ads ruin it. You can get the same layout as you get with the iframe with some div layers and some css, but I would prefer if I could escape that top nav bar. It is kind of big to have following me everywhere while I scroll down the page. And as for the ads, I don't like google ads in the middle of content because it blends in and I can't tell the difference when I'm reading it if I'm reading ads or your content. Perhaps a single vertical box of text ads on the right hand side would be better. It just feels cluttered. But other than that I like it. It has a nice little logo, and it is much more organized that it was last time I saw it.

The website really needs lots of work from my professional opinion. I do websites for a living and so i tend to look at a lot of them. Your site is very hard to find out what is on it. First of all, like others have said you have WAY to many ads or atleast where you place them. It is very hard to determine where the content is and where the ads are. Next i like your logo but the rest of the layout is poor. Surround the logo with the links and make it a single fluid layout. Then make sure you remove the iframe since they are very bad for search engines and for users. Your site should be a single frame with a single frame and a single slide bar.

The logo i will not change, at least for now, i like it, it does not seem to be connected to the subject of free flash clocks but obviously, we can connect it indirectly, but maybe i will do a logo that has much more to do with the website subject.
The google adsense ads on my website pages, in my opinion, are much better, not perfect i still see, but they are at least ok now, and if someone does not like the google adsense ads for some reason, i am sorry, they make money or popular website owners or administrators, my goal is to make money, but first, to make a very good website to create a very large comunity to share flash clocks. I already changed the color of the pop-up tips from dark grey to white, which is more eye friendly, taking under advisement one of the reviews which said i should change to a brighter color, and i agree with that review, i changed it to the white background color and the text in black. I updated the main free flash clocks pages, which have the actual free flash clocks, so now i think the google adsense blend and they are not too much, but i apreiate a review for that if someone do not mind at all.
