Despite calling it "The International day of women" but many countries do not celebrate it.

That because it is invented or started by the former Soviet Union. When I was in Russia, I noticed that it is the important celebration day there more than the first of May, the [labor day] or the Victory day. My wife's country , Poland and the other Former Warsaw Pack countries was celebrating it and they continue.

We in Australia not celebrate it.whatever the country or the women even the feminists . All are ignoring it because it is Communist invention. The same US and UK and other western European countries is ignoring it. But we celebrate a Mother day as well Father Dayin other date.

In Egypt they celebrate Mother Day on 21 March [ the beginning of Spring] but some organisation mentioning the 8th of March. Also they invented recently a women day where many women were killed by the British Occupation during a demonstration.

The same attitude is towards the First of May what is called Labor Day was established by the Soviet Union even it was in support of worker in US and in struggle of the American worker. In Australia, we celebrate the Labor day in another date . The same in US and western Europe. In Egypt they celebrate the First of May and it is holiday. That was started when the line of the country was towards socialism but still by the inertia.

That London library who refused to serve men for the day made a immoral decision. That's sexism, which is one of the things that IWD aims to do away with.



If a man phoned up a company like Diamond or Shiela's Wheels or whatever and asked to have their car insurance with them, legally they couldn't deny you. Take an example like diamond.co.uk. It says:



It looks like a holiday for the LEDCs more than anything ... Cuba, Ukraine and the like; so I have no idea why it spread, in part, to London.

While I appreciate the sentiment behind those who innocently buy into hoaxes like, "International Women's Day," the truth is, we live in a man's world, and it's all about money. One really needs to ask, who is really promoting this absurd holiday? Just as the so called "women's lib movement" of the 60's was brought about by an elite few to tear down the family, I suspect the motives of those behind this latest charade are just as suspect. It is actually something the corrupt United Nations has had a strong hand in. That alone should raise the eyebrows of any thinking person.

I think that, because we're all born equal regardless of gender, race, etc., the best thing to do is to be equal every day of our lives.

Do we really need a sham holiday to feel equal? I hope not, considering that we women types don't have nearly as much to gripe about as our mothers, and their mothers, did. I mean, really. We Western women get to do pretty much whatever we want. We can be stay-at-home mothers, brain surgeons, librarians, plumbers...whatever, really. We could even have a woman in the White House at some point in the near future. (Whether that last one is good or bad depends on the candidate, not on the gender, by the way.)

I for one celebrate womanhood every day. Even the really cruddy days of the month. I don't need some made-up holiday to tell me that it rocks to be a girl.

If anything, "women's holidays" should remind those of us in the Western world that we got the long end of the stick. Considering that there are still honor killings in some parts of the world (as in: a female is raped and her male family members kill her because she's impure and an insult to her family), I would say that we have it pretty good.
