technically, a virus is a software creation created in C, C+ and C++ language, and is a program that accesses your msdos and exploits your operating system, and/or virus software running on your pc. it doesnt affect physical objects tho, but it will go hitler on whatever software that piece of hardware uses.

Virus's change things in your computer that cause bad things to happen. Those who know the computer well can find things to hurt your computer. Just get AVG at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 It'll keep those nasty virus's from hurting your precious computer. Also, get spyware protection. ex. Ad-Aware SE Personal I swear, if I didn't get those programs, my computer would be so slow or in need a repair, which, I do not have the money for. So, get those free antivirus's and spyware removal programs!

I have heard about computer viruses destroying hardware. Thanks god it didn't happen to me... I only heard about viruses damaging the hard drive by spinning it too fast (I wonder even if that is possible)... Some could say viruses destroying hardware has become an urban myth. The Myth Busters should try it... tongue.gif

Virus is a software program created by experts to cause problem to the computers.

bill gates has made one that has infected the majority of computers in the world. dry.gif

By the way... the only way you be 99.99% sure you won't get a virus is of course by installing Linux. As far as I have heard there are only a few viruses for Linux and most of them are lab made (testing purpose).

yeah, most viruses don't damage your hardware, but some do. they alter your settings making your hardware overheat which leads to it being spoilt. i've also heard some viruses can corrupt your harddrive n even after reformatting it, it still won't work that well..not too sure tho o.O

either way, whichever it damages be it software or hardware, viruses are bad news, its best to play safe and keep your pc safe. get a good antivirus and anti-spyware prog, u can use a firewall too. as for the site you visit, don't download things from suspicious sites. stay virus-free!

That is good to know, I had no Idea they could affect hardware, well actually its still software that is affected, but its the software that has control over the hardware apparently.
