I think another reason Friday the 13th is believed to be bad luck is the fact that the Knights Templar were all executed on that date. Their leader cursed the french king and pope. Both died shortly afterward.

hmm... i dont think its the fact that it is infact a day of bad luck, its just that people make it a day of bad luck. on a normal day, as ur calling it (everyday is normal to me), if something bad happened it wouldnt neccessarily be seen as bad luck or a bad omen etc etc but if it were to happen on friday the 13th it is immediately recognised and connected by the person or people to having a connection to that particular day. people are affraid of it and see any normal bad happenings as the doings of the date. i dont believe in any nonsense bad luck days or numbers of teh devil bla bla... its just not rational enough for me to believe. everything was thought up by humans in the first place meaning that they never existed before us and cant be considered anything mroe than beliefs.

It's not unlucky. It's just a myth. I read something about it, but I forgot what it was. It's like 06-06-06. It's just a date.

I think it is all a bunch of hoo hah.

Doesn't really mean anything to me personally.

I do think about stuff on those days though, eg. black cats

Also generally I am still too afraid to walk under a ladder

• The Turks so disliked the number 13 that it was practically expunged from their vocabulary.

Very funny, but this is not right. 13 is a number as the others.
By the way I like 13 because
1453 : 1 + 4 + 5 + 3 = 13 (Conquest of Istanbul)
571 : 5 + 7 + 1 = 13 (Birth of Mohammad)
751 : 7 + 5 + 1 = 13 (Turks started to enter Islam)
1075 : 1 + 0 + 7 + 5 = 13 (Indepence of Anatolian Seljuk Empire)

So I like 13 laugh.gif

I thought 13 was a bakers dozen? tongue.gif

rofl...

Well, I don't really think there is anything mystically unlucky about the #13. It is just a number... and if we have anything to fear... I think it should be the number 23... lol....

Interesting things pointed out here... though I don't really believe the Friday the 13 = bad luck bit. I think that perhaps the accidents and stuff go up because people are already on edge from thinking it's an unlucky day, that they get into more accidents. Then when they happen, it's obviously blamed on the day it happened to fall on.

This Friday the 13th wasn't unlucky for me. I was at the race track, enjoying my racing and camping, with my father, whose birthday just happened to be that day. So we were both doing what we liked the most and didn't have any kind of misfortune smile.gif But thinking back, I don't recall any car #13s while we were there haha... I guess when you are racing that fast, it's better to be safe than sorry, because you just never know, right?
