While I cannot speak it fluently, I've been studying Latin for the past couple of years.

QUOTE(Peaktao @ Jan 28 2006, 07:35 PM)
How come there' no 'french' in the poll. It's a second language for most English students (at school).

For me, English is my second language...but I have been in England for 5 years now...so it doesn't feel so much like it's a second language...and I wouldn't wanna go to any more English classes...If I were to learn more, I would do french.
I have done a bit of it..But I guess French might not be as useful as spanish or even chinese these days..I don't mind chinese...it's becoming more popular and useful ...but...the characters are so hard.

well actually I made it, when i was done i thought noooo i forgot French, but I think thats because my second laguage is french ! hahahaaaa

sorry bout that,

by the way, if it can mbe edited in anyway by operators, maybe someone would be kind to do that for me biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif

I am currently a student in the United States and aside from learning the native tongue here, I am also studying the Spanish language, culture. and traditions. I also speak fluent Polish. At the high school that I attend, there are three different languages that you can pick from to study: Spanish, French, and German. If I were to learn another language, it would most likely have to be German, as I was born there and I do not know anything about the language.

My first language is English but I'm pretty fluent in Spanish because my family is from Colombia. I also know basic French (enough to start a little conversation) and I can read some Portuguese.
Someday I would love to learn how to speak in Russian. I was going to take classes at my university this semester but I didn't have enough room so maybe next time.

Actually I wish I could learn many languages; I've always had a fascination with them.

Heh.. I'd actually like to learn more Japanese.. I'm working on it, and getting pretty far, but since they dont use the roman alphabet, reading it is starting to seem like a whole new game XD (Well, katakana and hiragana were easy, but I dont think I'll ever learn enough kanji XD)

I'd like to learn more French, enough to get into a basic conversation rather than just being able to ordering food and such. I'm learning Spanish at the moment as well which I'm finding very hard, "tengo unos anos"* is about all I can say laugh.gif I don't really want to have to learn that......

BTW, out of interest, what country speaks Telegu?

// Added French option to the poll

* Means I'm one-year old

Good although in this forum intent to speak something of English, this undoubtedly is not my native language.

My language from birth is Spanish and I live in espaņa.It is also certain that with this forum I am practicing my English a little, although I am even given quite bad.

Soon I would like to learn frances and German, good in fact frances you a little, but only the basic thing that I gave in the instituo, and English I gave in the institute and also some particular classes.

Good here it is all statement I hope to go learning little by little.

Well my native language is Hungarian and my second is Romanian. Because I live in Romania but I am a Hungarian laugh.gif

My third language, which I learned from the time I was 4 or 5 years old is English. I have a beginner's level in French and German (learned French 6 years in school and German 2 years with tutor).

I am looking at the possibility of learning Russian or continuing my German, but don't really have the time the mood and the money.
