Does anyone realize that the original poster asked this in 2005, we're a bit late in our replies. Anyways, personally I know where the thread-starter is coming from, I myself have been searching for an adium-for-windows for most of my IMing life.
The fruit of my labor? - I use Pidgin now, its UI isn't grand but its not ugly, and using it is very easy. But, if you truly want an adium clone, use Miranda IM, and just search for an adium skin for it. Look in DeviantArt (if you can't find one, reply here and I'll waste my precious time looking for one). The problem with MirandaIM's skins are that its more than a matter or pasting the file in a folder and select it from the tools menu. You actually need to spend time installing various plugins and then change configurations, all of which could take up the better part of an hour. Fortunately, at the end of it you'll find yourself with an exact adium clone (in terms of appearances only though). Good Luck. This post has been edited by adenrake: Mar 2 2008, 11:29 AM |

Miranda IM is good, but until now i frequently using GAIM not upgraded to pidgin.
cause I already very familiar with GAIM. I though pidgin still have some bug that GAIM didnt have. |

Adium For Windows (A.K.A. Digsby)
Is There An Adium-like Im Client For Windows? This is the BEST chat client for Windows. It might even be better than Adium... armsinfragilehands.Blogspot.Com/2008/04/adium-for-windows.Html -reply by Thomas Holland |

5 Best IM apps
I thought you might find that link interesting, lifehacker discuses and compared the 5 most popular programs for IM. Personally I think Adium is just about perfect 99% customizable, fast, compact, growl integration...but if your on a windows machine Digsby is what I would recommend all though I think it's still in beta...all though I find beta software usually the best of the software world. (e.i. webkit and firefox 3 beta 5) |

I'm a mac user and love adium, but i would say for a pc miranda im (mirandaim.org) or pidgin. Both of which are downloadable as portable apps.
