Yeah, the iPod is good. Just make sure you keep it out of sight; muggers think they're good too.

All I can say is that the iRiver really kicks butt in features... LOL.

Ogg Vorbis support should be a standard feature in any player.

but im in canada... so it'd be like 30 something if ur in the states. 64 megs i believe.. im sure u can find something like it.. as long as it's from a crappy brand, it's got less than 128mb and it has no lcd display, it'll be really cheap

Zune i would say. I have an ipod but i want a zune and i was looking at all the features and it looks great. But they might also be expensive.

i currently have an ipod touch, and i am very happy with it. i thought the touch interface would be a pain in the rear end to use, however apart from the keyboard, they have thought of it very well (the on-screen keyboard when using safari etc. really frustrates me).

the only other negative i can think of is the battery life - it is terrible. i am forced to recharge my ipod every day. my estimate is that it conks out after 5 hours or so of intensive use, which really is pathetic.

of course, there is also that issue of third-party apps... but a jailbreak solves anything
