I really love Windows Media Player. It gives every Windows user that satisfying content that I cant really find in other media players. Well, I'm using Windows Media Player 10...

So that's it, I voted for Windows Media Player!

i think you are missing a media player that 100% deserves to be there... as a matter of fact, that would have been the first one i would have put: vlc media player. it can play almost anything you give it, is portable and doesn't take up much room.

my unifficial vote goes to that.

also, another one would have been divx player: although specifically for divx movies, it plays everything you give it, also (probably some on-demand codec donwloader)

i believe these two media players should have replaced the 2 of the 3 versions of winamp??? what's up with that???

VLC is good if you dont have any codec packs installed in your PC because it uses its own codecs....
I prefer media player classic for videos...it comes free with k-lite media pack .
For audio i prefer itunes...

i would say jet audio is one of my favorites because some times it can play videos that even other players can not play. my friend advised me to use Classic Media Player which is not the ole Media player for movies. I found Nero Media Player useful for DVD menus.

I like real player the best. You can play music, watch videos, buy music and movies and music videos right form the player. Its free, and you can do a lot more with it then just music! biggrin.gif

Greetings mates.
After the question is given in such way I may examine two cases:

1. When we talk about media player and...
2. When we talk about only audio players with the functions of decoder, encoder and so on...

1.
For media player, or in case I want to watch some kind of video format xvid, dvdrip, avi, mpeg4, wmv, I use the BSPlayer Pro 2.26 because is used by more than 60 million multimedia fans throughout the world and it has been translated into more than 90 languages. All the downloaded versions of our FREE version exceed the sum of all the downloads of competitive players and payable solutions. Because it does not use much of the processing power it is suitable for all those who use slightly less capable computers. Enjoy the multimedia playback of the highest quality. Last, but not least - BS.Player ™ media player is a product for the world public, so it is equipped with a treasury of subtitle options which enable the users to watch video content with subtitles from many popular subtitle formats (.sub, .srt, .vobsub...).

BSplayer is video player that supports almost any existing video and audio data formats, such as:
DIVX, AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, XVID, 3IVX, OGM, MATROSKA , ASF, WMV, DV, M1V, M2V, MOV, MP4, MPV, QT, RM, SWF, VOB and WAV, MPA, MP1, MP2, MP3, OGG, AAC, AC3, AIF, RAM, WMA...
