I have been thinking about this since forever. Well the idea is you plug something into your brain. A microchip kind of deal. You then install special software on your PC along with a wireless card (the wireless would be the same as a laptop connecting to your PC through a network.) Then that night when you have a dream it sends the wireless dream signal or WDS (haha sounds real) to your computer. You computer reads it and makes it into a dream file or .df (haha sounds real also) You then can watch your deams the next day in color and all the same as watching any other type DVD or VHS movie. Fast-forward or pause and more! If they are any good you can burn them onto a VCD or DVD just like any other video file. What do you guys think of it? It would be hella expensive, but would you buy it? And if so how much is the max you would pay all of it including the brain chip, wireless card, and software? I would page probably $1,000 for it. |

Anything's possible, eh? I would totally buy that if it existed (and was reasonably priced). I can never remember my dreams no matter how hard I try. I've been told that I talk in my sleep, but I never remember having a dream at all when I do. It'd be interesting to see it all like a movie, and see how long it takes to actually dream your dreams. Cool idea! |

Cool idea! Actually for people who have your problem and want to remember your dreams do these steps: 1. Get book and a pen to write stuff in 2. Set your alarm for about 4-6 hrs after you think you'll be asleep. In other words if you fall asleep fast set it for 4-6 hrs of the current time. If it takes you 30 mins to go to bed set it 4-6 from the time in 30 mins. 3. When you wake up you'll have an 80% chance of remembering at least one dream that night. Write it down and every detail you can remember. Once done you can just go back to bed. When you wake you might remember more details. Make sure to write them down. After doing this for awhile you'll end up remembering your dreams a lot better. |

Hmm, I'll have to try that. But then again it nearly takes an atomic blast to wake me up once I'm asleep. |

I have been waking up at about 8:30 AM everyday for awhile because your supposed to do that if you want to remember your dreams and now i wake up naturaly at that time and remember my dreams much more vividly. It's awesome. All my dreams are at night though which is weird.

First, this "WDS" would cost a whole lot more than a thousand dollars. Maybe a few million after research, development, installation, programming, and testing. Second, when one wakes up and remembers their dreams, it is usually in some kind of logical order. However, if one watched the entire dream with every disgusting/odd detail, it wouldn't make much sense. Most dreams are just a jumble of detatched scenes that make rough transitions from one to the other, and the result would be a movie so stupid, it would almost make the new Adam Sandler movies make sense in comparison. Besides, a lot of dreams (whether we realize/remember it or not) are disgusting, embarassing things that we wouldn't want anyone (including ourselves) to know/remember. And then there's the whole thing about how one would get raw images out of the brain fast enough to be processed by a computer (since the brain operates much faster than any current supercomputer). |

OK, dude, uhh if you havn't noticed this is the IDEAS forum. Well no *BLEEP* it would cost more then $1,000. Of course this could never happen. How can we convert brain images to images we can see with our eyes? We can't and probably won't be able to for 1,000's of years. It's just an idea. You don't have to say how this could never happen because i could go to just about 50% of all the topics in this forum and show you how it could never happen. Plus dreams are always things that you really want or really don't want. So even if it's embarassing its one of those two things. If it makes you feel better it would have a password system haha is that better? |
