I have alot of different opinions on this subject: I believe that pentiums adververtisement its most simple, because it uses the primary GHZ format rather than Athlons secondary, complicated understanding of the ways. But then of course Athon is a lot more cheap than pentium. And then of course, pentium is lightyears ahead of techonlogy, But of course, Athlons recommended for gaming (in which i am a gamer) Oh yea! Pentiums got a cool snazzy logo! Pentiums better ! J 2 da MBOT |

Hello ! I prefer Athlons because The last (Barton architectury) is very faster than Pentium IV C ! The problem is that we can do a overclocking on a Pentium but not on a Athlon... Because It's warming up very easly Bye ! |

Hey guys, Don't fight over what is spam there are people assigned to see to stuff like that. Did you ever wonder how it would feel to go to vote for your favourite processor and find people quarreling over spam? (Although it was fun to read) I like Athlon excellent price to performance ratio in the performance market (Although Duron is the best overall). Barton is not that good. The best arch was Throughbred B. Barton clock lags a lot and its cache doesn't help it much. The worst part about AMD is no SSE3. I feel ashmed to see the comparision chart of a Celeron D and an Athlon64. Athlon has to eat Celeron dust. Can you believe it??? |

at first i preferd Intel....but when A64 came on the market.....i swithced sides:D ...A 64 3800 ( which is not too expensive) is better then P4 3,46 GhZ EE (which cost more then 1000$)....so thereis no doubt who is better.... and AMD's FX-55 is the most powerfull desktop processor....so Intel has no chance..for now |

Don't underestimate in Intel. I don't think you know about the PentiumEE, this 32 bit kicked Athlon64FX butt. It was way too expensive, thats a different question. And don't tell Intel doesn't have any chance. Forgot what happened to GeForce6800 when Radeon X800 stepped in??? Intel has already registered the trademark for its 64bit dual core proc (Intel VIIV). You never know what's cooking in the foundry!!! |

I'm a Video Editor. I use MediaStudio 7. So, what kind of processor will you recommend? I want the rendering to be faster.

If you want something for video editing then just close your eyes and go for the SSE3 processors. I'll tell you I have seen a Celeron D beat a Athlon 64 FX in video benchmarks.

pricewise, i would go for an Athlon. but for high-end graphics & video editing, nothing beats a good Pentium. on my older computers, (PII vs K3) the pentium was much faster, tho the gap now is pretty much closed now, IMO. |

AMD is the BEST. It's easy to see that they are ... for example they have the only 64b CPU for desktop. Don't really know why Intel hasn't a 64b CPU for desktop computers but the important thing is that they don't have one. There is only one thing I don't like in AMD > the fact that they have released 2 different sockets 754 and 939 - every one of tyhem have there own CPU but when they released the 754 their said that it will have a short life. Well it seems they changed their minds since they've lunched a couple of new semprons for this platform. I really miss the days when there was only one platform Socket A ... |
