I've seen something like this before. People can put a mock login screen on a web site and people (who are dumb enough) will enter their login information, which is then collected and used by the arse who does this.

For the game Gunbound, for example, kids are constantly getting ripped off by using their login information at an unoffical site.

ONLY USE YOUR SENSITIVE INFO AT THE **OFFICIAL** WEB SITE!

That is pathetic how someone would go through all that trouble! Oh, well. At least it was taken care of! It does help if you give your personal info at the real site, and that, if it's even MORE personal, check for https:// in the address bar. (If it's personal info they're requesting, and there's no https:// in the address bar, REORT IT). Something like that happened wiht my mom's PayPal account once.
Still even a "secure site" with https:// in the address bar may not be secure enough...

Also watch out for fake hotmail logins. And net passport ones. It's good to have a firewall that protects your ID. Zone Alarm Pro and Norton Internet Security all have these features.

It is sad that someone would use this site to take advantage of everyone, and especially take their money like that.
it is quite easy to do, but it can cost you more than you would ever think of when you are caught, this goes for hackers aswell.

I've seen this happen before. If I was Opaque I would check people's crap after they get their stuff up. I've seen it happen at great hosts and don't like it to happen because too much and: BAM! They stop being a good host then you have to go off searching for many days for an as-great host.

That's horrible, they could have gotten Trap17 in a lot of trouble, how much information did you have on them, enough to get them in some trouble? I'm glad they got suspended. biggrin.gif
