i use downloadHelper, it does actually work. When I download the files I just open them with FLV player.
The quality is very bad espiecially if you enlarge. |

no no.. an easier way is if you want youtube videos. all you have to do is go to the following links. and download the plugin .. you must use firefox for this though.
http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/ <-- install firsts after you install greasemonkey .. you then go to the following link and download that script.. http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/4037 <-- install after greasemonkey then reset ur firefox like it asks or else it wont work. you can test to see if u installed it right but just going to a youtube video.. and it will show a yellow bar at the top of firefox window and it will say click to download video. or something like that.. and then it will send you to a page that has a link called Download ... you right click on that. then click save link target as... and then name it whateva you want .. but at the end of the file .. put ".flv" for example ... if the video is called "cartoon" when you save it type it as "cartoon.flv"  so it is playable . if you just put cartoo with no file extension at the end.. it won't playJust a tip though. some sites have youtube embedded but wont show that bar for you to download cause its not actually on the youtube site. but thats some of them. so all you do is jst click on the you tube video so that it leads to the actual youtube page .. and then download it from there of course this is a plug in so it will be there forever unless u reinstall a new firefox ..

Thanks for that link ,though i have also known some programs to download youtube videos.So thats another program in my long list.There are really great videos on youtube and I think everyone would like to download the one which they like the most.

Some of the posts also mention how to download from an embeded flash movie. Question is : If I have a *.swf movie embeded in a site, what would be the best option to download it?

There are a lot of sites and programs that you can use to download videos from youtube. Infact, there is probably a code you can make to do it.

Well you can download videos from youtube just go to the youttube page and check out for the link to the video in the code of the page itself then copy this code or link in your browser adress or url bar and you should be able that is if you are using firefox from mozilla then new dialog should open to you and you should be able to download this video if nothing else happens then I suggest that you use free download manager FDM it has integrated part for downloading videos from many web services.

if you want to download youtube videos, just go to: www.converttube.com, you can download the video, but also just the sound
