Too bad that they didn't online at the same time , if about 10% members , the numbers must be around 2000 when there is only one stupid number 1,362. I hate it , I really hate it , what do all other members think while they registered and no post ? But I bet one day trap 17 will grow really big and the number will be 99999 or more.Hope we could beat 1,362 , don't let 1,362 beat us.

It shows that because members are all on at different times. And some of them aren't even here anymore and their accounts just weren't deleted. Half of them could be accounts that aren't in use from a few years back. They will be deleted from inactivity by the Admins or some scripts installed some day. And because of that, and the fact that half the people here are adults and have jobs, they are at work and making money to support their family.

i think it will stay the most users online ever because when i do come on not that many people come on.

Trap17 should do these special days where they give a date for EVERYONE to come and login in a certain date so we can try to beat it .

Yes , I think so. It is very hard to beat that number , it has stayed here for 8 or 9 months. I hate those who register then leaving , if not because them , we can kill that number and replace with a better cooler one.

Don't hundreds of people visit the site/forum everyday? All of them are interested in getting free web hosting, but they'd rather not work for it which leads to them being a guest and not registering.

If you've noticed at all, there're almost always more guests than members online. Sometimes there're some anonymous members too.

And if I'm not mistaken, sometimes, there can be multiple instances of the same IP. If you access Trap17 with two browsers, the other one will be a guest. (unless you've logged in with that browser before and you stayed on) Sometimes, people like to alternate between browsers, which can lead to two of the same IPs visiting the forum.

Also, you can't really expect every member that've joined to be online at the same time. Some people are seperated by timezones. So while 1000 users can be online now, the other 1000 (assuming there are 2000 users using Trap17.....) will be sleeping or doing something else.

Has to come still at some point, most forums would have members that would have a look, and never come back again. Its a fact in pretty much all forums, whether successful or not, commercial or private. But onto the topic, I'd say that Trap17 will break the record at some point as traffic and hosting grows.

I have to agree it takes ages to make a forum become active. For example, I'm a moderator at a InvisionFree based Australian Sports forum, and it took ages for the forum to become active (It went from peaking at 10-20 members a few months ago, to around a peak at 40-50 members on most nights now). It took hard work through promotion and the regs posting regularly.

It would be interesting to know what happened on December 7th, 2005, that was so special, to make 1,362 trap17 members be logged on all at the same time. There must be many current members that are active on the forums that were around on that day that could tell us what they thought was going on. After all, December 2005 is not that long ago. It's not like it is ancient history.

I have been trying to think of possible reasons that would drive up traffic to having over 1,000 members online at once. The only thing that I can think of is maybe the site had a work over, new software installed, a new look perhaps, and that made people want to try the new site out.

The first membership registration was June 11th, 2004, nearly 27 months ago. And there are now nearly 22,000 registrations. So that works out at an average of 800 registrations a week, say 25 a day, every day. Not a bad record, except .... where do they all go?

Well, I guess people do not visit here that often for one reason or another. If a bunch of members are frustrated by this, there is nothing stopping them coming up with ideas to make the site more popular. I am sure the admins would be pleased if that were to happen.

1,362 is a kind of a record for this site and it is hard to see it being broken anytime soon.

I think it is hard to beat that number.


Just because of the time zone , only about 40 % members have the right time to log in but then 20 % of that 40 % have to work or something similar.

But that number doesn't bother me much , even it is a nit annoying
