I still use Bravenet services. I recommend EVERYONE download AdBlock for Firefox so you can't see the ads. Not everyone has this though, so people still see ads.
AdBlock will block Bravenet ads. They bump the page down so far. |

I used to use bravnet and hostultra, but hostultra charged me more than I agreed to so screw them, and bravnet has ok layouts if u purchase pro, but other than that there counter and forms are the only things I use lol. So if u want some easy to sue tools make sure that you use them on pages u don't mind if ur site is webbed with pop-ups.

Most of the replies to negative feedback here seem to be from the company downplaying the hype of issues related to them. Yes using their freebies gives them access to change your site!! Pay attention to these replies when your looking for a freebie. Every hear the term you get what you pay for?? Ne who I never recommend a freebie site because they create enough back doors for themselves once on your site. |

Bravenet does have some easy to use website features but the ads are horrible. I used them before and the site ads are pretty annoying. They do have some great free website templates though. In fact, it's child's play to just take one of their templates for a Trap17 site, edit the graphics used for the template to your liking, and then get a nice-looking site.
With a current site of mine (http://jzambrano.trap17.com) I did just that, used a Bravenet free layout, tweaked the graphics by editing with PaintShop Pro, and then rather than using their buttons I used flash menu buttons instead. Btw, the site will probably be down for a short while more though, because I've been off-line for the past month or so and am just now getting my hosting credits up again. Bravenet might be good for beginners just interested in any kind of site, but you can find better features anywhere else. The thing with their chatrooms and forums and guestbooks and guestmaps is that they're all hosted on Bravenet... meaning annoying ads, and it just looks unprofessional with the non-website web address. A lot of Trap17's web building tools are better. You can put them on the actual website rather than having to post a lame link off-site for people to go to first. Bravenet has more value, in my mind, for the free website templates and free fonts it offers than anything else. |
