i believe one site is a good deal because if you are a student they will host your domain for 5 years free. They also provide the free hosting as well. But, the only thing I don't like is that you can't switch hosting and if you want to trasnfer the domain out it will cost you $50. So basically, you are paying about $10 a year if you actually transfer the domain.

So, if you have the money now.. just buy the domain. If not you can do it with onesite. I'm sure you will have $50 by the end of 5 years.

Sure 8.50 doesn't soudn to good, but most people that want to get a domain are below 18 and don't have a credit card or can't get one from their parents etc. Also not all the offers that i;ve posted you ahve to post in order to receive a free domain. Like the one in webmaster talk you can refer to people and you can get 50 per referal so if you refer to people you don't even have to posts. Also if you have a popular site you can get the deal where you can put some ads on your site for a free domain.

I am just saying that if you can get a free domain for free why not try and get it!.

Actually no. You didn't help. I already got it. I parked it and I have had the stuff. But I am now trying to make it. dauca.cjb.net/sga and aok and aoka. I tried and it didn't work. How would I park dauca.cjb.net/sga without it screwing up and/or messing it up? Do I like have to do a new nameserver or what?

Ok got this from one site's FAQ
QUOTE
ONEsite provides the first year free.  After the first year, you will be billed at our yearly rate which is currently $35 per year.  To prevent Fraudulent and erroneous sign ups, we do extensive Fraud checking including credit card validation to ensure that you are a valid user. If you have a .edu email address you will not have to provide the credit card verification. If you are a high school student who is 18 years of age, please fax in a copy of your sign up form and student ID to 405-753-9353. If you are under the age of 18 you must also fax in a copy of your parent or guardians signature.

Fax them? why whould i want to go through all of that if I am not a student

Also
QUOTE
With the ONEsite service - we provide the toolbar to simplify your online experience. With the click of a mouse you can instantly gain access to your email, news, weather, and web files. The ONEsite toolbar is built directly into your site and cannot be turned off.

You have to upgrade to premium in order to remove it.

you only get 50mb of space. For me that isn't enough.

Man alot of people are really looking into trying to get themselves a free domain name. I myself am happy with my sub-domain. I do not have to give out any of my personal information.

I would rather purchase a domain name rather than get one "free". Or i would rather use a subdomain instead of a "free" top level domain name. I see it as not free. you still need to do things to get it. for

example: Post 600 to 1000 posts in the posting case its not really free. , pay for hosting to get a free domain name. which in that case your actually paying for the hosting and the domain name., complete sponsers or surveys. also not free. since you need to use your free time to do the surveys.

So actually nothing is free about a "free" domain name. Like i already said i would rather purchase a top level domain name or use a subdomain instead of getting a "free" top level domain
