KNow the the books made before the whole right stuff are not subjected to those laws and google has asked the publisher companys for persmission to post these books. As you see Harry Potter is never going to be on the list because why would Rowling want her books read for free. They're still racking in money.
That's pretty neat. |

now i just have to wait for the Harry Potter books to show up on there >_< neways, this looks like it could be a verry usefil tool for people who are doing book reports or somthing! good find! LOL, That would take forever to read, since J.K.Rowling writes more pages a book and has done over 600 before, i would rather read the actual thing or hire the book for free from a library. But reading books on google seems interesting. How did people come up with this idea? They would have to scan every page wouldn't they? Or would the company have it on computer anyway? |

This is it... Google is taking over the world!
Kidding aside, I think this is a great way to preview books and expose you to the vast and colorful world of literature. I'm a fast reader and a bookworm myself... However, I'm not fond of reading e-books or reading anywhere else rather than the real book. I love being able to bury myself in the pages, hug the book and hide in the darkest corners with it and giggling. Reading it in a computer takes away most of the fun and is kinda weird for me, since I usually use the computer for other stuff... <-- Not used to doing reading marathons on the computer. Oh... speaking of which... I just bought a new book today... better get back to it! Have you hugged your book today? |

What book is it? Any good?
Back on topic, I checked out this site and it seems to only have old books and most i havent even heard of, but the good thing is that when i get homework at school to read a book i can do it on the computer just to annoy the teachers. I searched pokemon out of sheer curiosity and it came up with a book about killing pokemon. |

That book is Sophie's World. It's a novel explaining the history of philosophy... and I love philosophy! It explains it in a fun to read way. It also was a New York Times best-seller, so I recommend you all to read it.
QUOTE I searched pokemon out of sheer curiosity and it came up with a book about killing pokemon. HAHAHA! I have yet to see that! Besides that, I have nothing else to say... Back on topic: I agree with the others that popular books won't be around there... It's mainly because they still have time to rake in the money. I've seen Harry Potter E-Books around, and I don't think Rowling can do anything to stop that... However, like I said, it's much better to have the real book in the first place. |

Yeah it would be great if the popular books were there, but alas they wont be for a couple of years, The harry potter series has become quite popular and i doubt that they'd every make it onto the site, as Rowling will want as much money as she can get. Although i never knew about the E-Books but i did know that you can download the books on wav files and listen to some guy read them aloud. I tried looking for that pokemon book and it was gone,

Its a good tool considering Questia is an online research tool that college students and people use to do research papers. Its really useful. However there is a subscription that cost money.
Google doing this will be good for research and therefore compete with other companies. lol. I sound so weird. anyways I'm glad google has come out with this. I don't like reading books online that much. Strains the eyes. all that radiation. lol |

That is really very cool. To be able to search for almost any book and read it too. I am going to have to try this thing out. I never have to go to the library again.
