I think I may have found a answer for you guys I am testing it, though I can't take the credit.. here is where I found it....

by the way those files are for windows xp pro 2 not tested with any other oss may or may not work with other oss if un compat just revert the boot.ini to fix.

You Three finger salute, (press control alt delete) then select the performance tab...
then hold alt and press v then c then p if you don't see two graphs for your cpu usage, and you have a pentium 4 Hyper Threading processor you need to contact me or follow the advice on that page.. have a good day ..

Replying to grnjdIt is easier then it sounds just check the device manager and see if it has two proccesors listed. If it does you have hyperthreading enabled.
