I have been using Mambo for a long time and love it in every way...
I Found the administration more clear and better than php-nuke etc... php-nuke/post-nuke might have more features but mambo has quite a lot of components that you can plug-in according to your requirement... Have not tried wordpress yet... Cheers. |

QUOTE(mbd5882 @ May 19 2005, 01:18 AM) I hate cute-news, Not complicated. I need summit hard, Like well there all easy but still ill kill whoever make the cute scripts. I have used it be4 for like 5mins, Then took it off. That doesn't make sense, just thought I'd comment on it. Why would you want a CMS if it's hard? Isn't that the point of one - to easily update? |

I also would say that Wordpress is the best, but there are also other CMS to be found good and helpfully, for example: Mambo OS: This is very good, not very easy, but when you know how to handle it, this would be a good choice Based on: html PHPNuke: Very very simple, most beginners' first choice (do not understand me wrong if you're using it), but it doesn't look as cool as Mambo Based on: PHP I'm sorry hayri, but Mambo is in fact built on PHP and MySQL, exactly the same as PHP Nuke. I like and use Mambo for a production site, and I can tell you that it's a little bit inflexible (unless you are a developer and are willing to write your own components and such), but is very powerful and easy to use after the first couple of weeks or so. I love the ease and reliability of adding new functionality to it, whether it be through modules or components (unlike in SMF where mod installation can really go haywire, that's another story considering that SMF is a forum not a CMS). WordPress is actually a blogging tool, although you can make nice other types of web sites with it. Intstalling plugins and themes is a bit different from Mambo (it invloves FTPing or otherwise uploading a directory to your server), but WordPress is nevetheless pretty easy to use (it even won a spot in this year's PC World Top 100 list). |
