So does it only destroy illegal music files or eradicates the whole collection of music?

Yes, it destroys any file that ends in .mp3, effectively, your entire collection. Sucks, init?

Haha. If it was distributed by the RIAA, that'd be like shooting themselves in the foot, wouldn't it? I mean, to have the worm destroy the legal files too?

I ripped all my CDs into iTunes to put into my iPod, so they're all legal, so it's kinda nonsensical/ridiculous to wipe my collection out, since I did nothing wrong.

Not only does it not differentiate between legal and illegal mp3 files, it also doesn't let you reboot your computer.

So far, it's been circulating only in Europe, but those in the US and Asia had better take caution as well. It's only a matter of time...

Well, it's designed to look like a DVD cracking hack thing so unless you were interested in those, you're safe I guess. wink.gif

I use AVG and Ad-aware.

Any of you guys facing this New Folder.exe virus ??

New Folder.exe Virus
It just creates an empty exe files (looks like a folder with the name of the parent folder)... it just spreads itself with all the thumbdrives and other shared memory. Will occupy your harddisks space so much...

remedies welcome...

SSVICHOST.EXE
This is another virus that disables cmd prompt, task manager, regedit, msconfig and other important system functionalities. It also slows the system drastically by running other applications in the background.

Help me please.... these two drives me mad....

Norton and Avg do not detect this virus. One solution works...like booting windows in safe mode and deleting all the viruses... but it comes again when some drive is inserted.

Help!! Help!!

I don't understand what these people gain out of breaking millions of computers.

Anyway, all my virus checkers are up to date, so I should be ok.
