I found 2 great article at the FTC Website the first on is calles "How Not to Get Hooked by a ‘ Phishing’ Scam" and the second one is called " Is Someone "Phishing" for Your Information? These is a really good article and I think all Trap17 members should read it, so that they don't get caught in one of these scemes.

I know this is kind of old to reply, but.... what happened to thus member. He is in jail now, or did he just get fined? Really bugs me that someone would do this, but at least this was 2 years ago and nothing like this has occured since then

When I read this, I was thinking to myself: "how ridiculous can you get?" Such lowdown people exists, of course our world is not perfect, the lowest one can get is to commit something illegal, cheat people and bring down an entire organisation with them, constituting to a bad name to the organisation, in this case it is trap17. I hope paypal tracks them down together with the fbi and punish this person as hard as they can. Ban him from the internet? Possible? Unlikely, but that would be the just punishment for scums like him

Well I guess the owner of that account just found a good way to steal others, however I'm curious about how close to the real paypal site and payment methods he got to be able to fool people like that. Everytime I make a payment I check the address where I'm inserting data, it's kind of difficult to forge where data is being sent to so I wonder how those people were fooled.
Anyway well done by paypal and by trap 17 making sure that not even the most distracted people get's fooled.

I'd never expect someone to use this service for a horrible thing like this. I hope that "faceofdie" is caught!

They already have been caught. If they weren't caught yet, this topic would be nonexistant.

I think this site could really use a wall of shame. Or some form of phsycological punishment.

This is awful. Fraud is terrible anyway, but trying to make some illegal money without ever paying for a hosting... it has no name. Because that way they're kind of harming trap17 reputation. mad.gif
