For music (mp3-4 and ogg) I am using xmms a linux/unix musicplayer which has allmost the same interface as winamp 2.x So I vote winamp classic smile.gif

WinAMP Modern (5.05) must be the mother of all media players smile.gif I don't use it for movie playback though... For movies, I use BSplayer, or MicroDVD, wich work for me the best (or I'm just used to them tongue.gif)

Anywho, my vote goes for WinAMP!

Winamp 5 by far, the plugins are great, i love the crossfading control, hundreds of free skins, whats not to love?

The windows media player 10 is nice now, but i stil vote winamp.

New windows media is just too bulky for me. It uses to much of space, for movies I prefer BSPlayer, for music Winamp definetly.

My choice is Winamp Modern for Audio, and Windows Media Player for video. Although I dont use it ,but I think Jet Audio is missing in the voting options.

I use Windows Media Player for videos mostly and winamp for mp3-s.
I have tried bsplayer and some others too but since wmp was already in my computer i used this instead of bsplayer. i like it it's good.
and so is winamp. i like the design of it and that i can have my own skins wink.gif

As pbrugge I use Mplayer for video, and XMMS for audio.

I can't understand how people can use closed-source software for there multimedia files, with all the risk of spyware sending information about what files you're playing... user posted image

QUOTE(no9t9 @ Nov 4 2004, 01:56 PM)
For movies, I use Windows Media Player 6.2 something.  It is already included in windows xp and it is very small and efficient.  The program is like 5kb.  Why download WMP Classic when it is already included with XP?
Because we're not talking about WMP (which is closed-source and deprecated), but about a modern and free software, MPC.
You cal also use VLC if you don't like MPC. But there isn't any other choice on win32...
