Wow, that's pretty damn usefull! There's like way too many templates to count right there. However, I've never installed a template before though, can anyone tell me how I would go about doing such a thing? :?

There is a good open source web design software called NVU. It is so good. It is just like Dreamweaver 8. Look at NVU.com

I really love the clean cut designs of http://oswd.org/browse.php.
But they are quite simple, meaning for personal websites. Are there any open source / freeware sites with a focus on ecommerce ? Thanks Guys. |

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) offers some pretty simple though effective css templates. And if you like to be standards compliant, you can be sure of that if you get it off the W3C unless they are hypocrites - they designed the web standards to begin with.
http://www.cssfill.com/ offers some excellent free CSS layouts and templates from 5 different categories. They are slightly better and more advanced than those you get from the W3C. The other alternative (and the one I use) is to use an open source Content Management System, such as Joomla! or Drupal (trap17.com offers a lot that can be installed through Fantastico), and download templates, although the default ones are pretty good. Sites made using these Content Management Systems certainly look more professional than ones made using CSS templates. |
