Go here: http://suteki.nu/journal/index.php and on the left scroll down and under OekakiPoteto click Download.

Then after downloading unzip it (but don't upload it or it won't work) open the directory you unzipped in goto the docs folder and open manual.htm. Read the file on how to install, you will need FTP, MySQL, and PHP support, which is included with Trap17 so don't worry about installing these (unless your not using Trap17 . Then scroll down to the table of contents click on Determining if you are newbie (to see if you are a newbie) or Installing OekakiPoteto for non newbies. I think actually using the newbie guide is harder than installing for non-newbies so I giving you the non-newbie install information.

You must use upload the files through FTP or it WILL NOT WORK. Trust me, I tried without FTP.Also the quotes boxes are copyed from the manual and I will not receive credit for them since they are in quotes but I am putting my own words the instructions.


1. First create a directory in your root of your web site through FTP. CHMOD this to 777.

Upload these files in ASCII mode in FTP to the directory you are going to put OekakiPoteto in and CHMOD them to 666:
annouce.php
hosts.txt
ips.txt
notice.php


Upload these files to the directory you are going to put OekakiPoteto in in Binary mode.
button.gif
MgLine.zip
oekakibbs.jar
PaintBBS.jar
PCHViewer.jar
pr0n.png

Upload all the PHP files in the root of oekaki in ASCII mode to the directory you are install OekakiPoteto in.

In the root folder of the directory you created install OekakiPoteto create a directory called templates and CHMOD this to 777 and upload all the files in the templates folder in ASCII

In the directory you created to put OekakiPoteto in, create a directory to store your pictures (I perfer pictures) and CHMOD this directory to 777

In the directory you created to put OekakiPoteto in, create a directory called language and upload all the files in the language directory in ASCII mode.

Now go to http://www.yourwebsite.com/yourOekakiPotet...ory/install.php and follow the instructions to install the tables for OekakiPeteto into your database, create your DB first. At the bottom you will need to input account info for your owner account so make a password can remember or write down (I prefer remembering, no paper trails).

That all you have to do and is all simple, have fun. Feedback about OekakiPeteto?

Also getting your account there takes forever. So one way or another. Sorry if I am breaking the rules.

Yeh, thats really not a nice website design at all, the bannre at the top is dodgey as mention before, but then front page scrolls down way too far, it should be split up into a number of pages...not good design...hehe

First of all, you dun need to host it urself XD

and like, its rarer that something'd go wrong. Say ur web host was down, at least your board will be up! XDD
Also, too many types of oekakis can be confusing XD

I like shi and oekaki board the bestl, and is more used to Shi, but the multiple layers in Oekaki can be nice ^^

Firstly none of this links is working that is problem and I haven't wuite undesrtand how come and what does this program do that is what is it for. And I am wandering how come that it doesn't work if you don't upload it trough the fto becayse transfer protocol is almost the same.
