Because of my hard drive's small capacity, I didn't want to install the 300+mb office suite by Microsoft. I've tried OpenOffice but it was still too big. Right now I only have AbiWord to write documents. So I've taken a quick look at SourceForge and found these:

QUOTE
- web office suite
- alpha-office
- eclipse office
- liberty office
- bestoffice

I haven't installed any of these but what I'm trying to look for is a suite that is compatible with .doc, .xls, .ppt, and other files Microsoft Office has. It also has to be small no more than 100mb. Do any of you have the office suite I'm looking for?

Are you sure you need the entire suite rather than selected applications? How about using a portable version (that is, if you have a USB memory stick)?

Yes I do have a flash USB drive. I actually need a spreadsheet program and a slideshow program.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

Open Office is downloadable from Open Office Site and it works great.

Since it packs so much power, yes, it is a bit bulky. I have it installed, but don't use it for much. When you need full blown suite of tools, it is nice to have, though.

As a user of the portable apps programs, i think they are awsome... i have all of the programs installed on a 1 gb jump drive and i still have plenty of room for all my files. I recommend this if you have limited hard drive space or are on the go. I take it to school, it includes abiword and openoffice portable... I would take a look at it, seeing as you can get a 1gb jump drive for 19.99 at target (here anyways) i think its worth it, yes the download size is a bit of a hassle but if you can get a hold of a dsl or broadband connection i say go for it... if you cant get a 1gb jump drive they will run freely from a 512 jump drive...

ill take a look at the other office programs your talking about though
