I just got admitted to start a website under this domain.

One problem. I have no idea where to start. Where do I log in?
Do I make the site offline? and if I do, where do I upload it?

Basically I need a the basic starter kit. I have looked for a FAQ but I can't find it anywhere on here or on the main site.

Yeah I need help I know I *BLEEP* tongue.gif but I have never really used this system and I am quite new at making sites.

Any help would be much appreciated.

trap17 is a very professional hosting. but as pawoodster said, we can help
you more if we know what you intend your site to be. smile.gif the server can
handle plain html (as most newbies would use), and it can also handle
server-side scripting with PHP and MYSQL so we have a very powerful
hosting if you decide to use it.

basics you need:
>> for html - an html editor. you may be familiar with frontpage already,
but you can search the forums for other html editors members of trap17
use or prefer (some just use NotePad). smile.gif
>> FTP - choose an FTP app which you will use to manage your uploads to
your hosting space. this has been discussed as well in the forums. smile.gif
>> javascript - for short yet fancy scripting for some cool page effects like
"no-right-click", etc.

when you decide to raise your web experience as a webmaster, you may
try to learn the following later on:
>> CPANEL - if you desire to manage stuff in your webhosting space, login
to your site's CPANEL. experiment with the features, especially the ready-made
scripts there. smile.gif
>> for PHP/MYSQL - trap17 forum has sections devoted to these so you
may want to check suggested tutorial links and ready-made scripts provided
there. this would take a while to learn, and it would be best to setup a
personal web server (on your PC) so you can make initial testing before
uploading and tweaking later. this is to make dynamic pages which uses
databases.

forum members will be able to help you if you have further questions later smile.gif

Yeah, the members here are very nice. If you have any questions, feel free to ask us. Basically if you want to make a website, just do one in Frontpage and use the 'publish' tool. That's the simplest way I can think of.

Well, another even more simple way is to copy your .html/.htm file into the public_html folder.

That's if you know what the .html file is....

Anyway, good luck in your website. We will all be here to help you. We were all noobs once tongue.gif

Heres my suggestions:
Pm someone first with this knowledge to help you.(i know how to and im sure every1 else here mainly does)
1. Get an ftp program like smartFTP will work fine
2. Learn how to use the ftp program and know your server address, login, and pass to access it.
3. Learn how to do file transfers in your ftp program.
4. Get someone to help you with html things. For example your index.html file(s) to display a webpage.

There's alot more but im having a thinking block( like always) so i'd say just do that first and then post what you specificlly need help with then im sure you'll get more help. Cause i'm always free to help.
