Note: Quoted stuff are copyed stuff, so therfore I didn't receive credit for the copyed stuff. Also this is a guide on getting a certain board, NOT ADVERSTING. Also sorry for posting this in the wrong forum, seemed good here wink.gif .

If you want to buy a forum and not use the free open source boards then you should read this. I know two boards that aren't free. These are vBulletin and InvisionBoard Which one should you get, well that depends on want you want to get. Lets check out the pricing info first, shall we:

InvisionBoard Pricing Info:
QUOTE
License options
We offer two types of license:

Yearly license $69.95
Perpetual license $185.00

vBulletin Pricing Info:
1 - 2: $160.00 Owned License, Perpetual license
1 - 2: $86.00 Leased License, Yearly license

Notice anything from both, well there is, I'll explain:
You can see that the Yearly license from InvisionBoard is cheaper than vBulletin but the owned license is cheaper at vBulletin.

Thinking about vBulletin or InvisionBoard right now because of the diffenece of price, well I would rethink that because each board is different. Yes, we all know vBulltion is a great board but do you really want to spend all that money, are you sure it's worth it? Well that all depends on which type of features you need, you should go to the board's sites and see if you want that certain type of board.

I would recommend getting the Owned license so you don't have to pay every year. It depends. Are you sure there are mods for vBulletin, are you sure you can change stuff in vBulletin. In fact I never used vBulletin but have use InvisionBoard for free on free board hosts of InvisionBoard like InvisionFree.

InvisionBoard is also a great board but did I mention that you can try both of these board of free. Test vBulletin or try out InvisionBoard. If you try these, you might rethink your discison on which one you want to get.

This might help you save money when wanting to purchase a forum but if you don't want to SPEND anything then goto phpBB or an ASP board Snitz Forum (no EasyMod for Snitz Forum sad.gif ). phpBB is a really great free board which has EasyMOD to install mods for you.

I have nevered purchased any forum before and only used free boards but I decided to write this guide on to save money on purchasing a forum for other members of this forum. smile.gif I hope this was useful. Feedback?
