At the risk of sounding like I'm copying this down from a CV, I'll begin by saying that my name's Neeldhara and I'm close to completing my first year of undergraduate studies. My interests are centered around mathematics and literature. I can do a little programming when the weather is good, and statistics is fun on a rainy night, when you can try calculating the standard deviation of raindrops from a particular point on a window. Also trying to get the hang of web design and animation; in the middle of grokking (spelling??) the Gimp - and loving it!

Welcome to trap17!
Mathematics was my thing until my freshmen geometry teacher ruined it for me. Now I hate it, and I have to take Advance Placement Calculus BC next year, which I'm dreading as the days move by. However, I love programming. I've been doing it for about 3 years now, and I know more than 5 different programming languages. Hopefully, I can impress some company later down the road and get a good job. Anyways, have fun here at trap17, and good luck on your school work. |

Oh dear... I know what a bad teacher can do - sometimes they really spoil it for you. It's partly why I gave up on physics, although I think I must share the blame in the name of fairness
Five languages? I think any company would be impressed with that I'm already having great fun here. It's so happening, it's an extremely pleasant break from work for me... Regards, Neel |

Hello there! This is a fun community and I hope you'll enjoy your stay.
I hate math by the way. I feel so relieved now that my statistics subject is over. Haha! No more math subjects ever! |

LOL! I'm sure I know that feeling... when I knew, after my tenth grade, that I'd never have to do history for exams again, I felt like I'd lost a few pounds. I do watch the history channel now and then, but to know that I won't ever have to by heart it from a text book, it was an ultra-cool feeling. I still don't like doing math for exams and tests, it tends to get boring.
I'm already enjoying my stay, and I am sure I'm not leaving (unless someone has to push me out |

Welcome aboard, mama_soap! I'm not as much of a programmer as many of the people here, but I'm learning slowly but surely. All the same, there are a lot of topics here (including programming threads) you can talk about. Aside from that...have fun and I'll see you on the boards!
