I was not using my hosting for quite some time so I thought of learning about DIV boxes and experimenting with them. I started learning about them yesterday and I have created this layout for my website which is still under construction.
Please let me know about how can I improve the layout and while suggesting bear in mind that I am new to CSS and DIV and I started learing it just yesterday! tongue.gif

It loaded fine for me. Looks very good. I am new to building web pages also. Just don't have a lot time to devote all at once. Have to do it piecemeal.

Anyway, great start!

It doesnt look bad at all but i would recommend you make all the width of your site consistent by using the width tag and nested divs. For instance the left side of your title image should be in line with your left navagation box, etc. Also, align the middle div to the top so that all the divs in that section of the page are level.

I can see it.
Man that looks pretty good, it looks kind of professional layout, alingment is the only thing that doesnt seems good as said above but i like the colors you employed and the diagonal patern in the backgound.
Keep working on it, really, it can be a very good site. GJ smile.gif

Well, currently it isn't working for me either, anyways fffanatics, for me everything is lined up and there is no need to align the banner as it is supposed to be out of the layout, anyways tell me which browser are you using and then if possible post a screenshot of the problem, I will try to fix it..

*EDIT*

I noted some alignment problem in IE but I cant fix it for some reason as I dont know anything else than what I have implied as I learnt all this just yesterday so basically I dont know anything that I can do, can you people tell me something, all of my friends agree that it looks proffessional and it is grungy, techy and as well descent, well I was never good at scanlines in signatures but they turned out to be good here! tongue.gif

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

It is working for me.
Seems to have some table, font and lots of span tags in there still, so it isn't quite a css site yet, but a good start. Keep learning the css that will replace the tags I mentioned above. If you need any assistance, look (and search) the HTML Topics or the Tutorials Subforum. If you don't find an answer, post a topic and there are many html savvy members at the Trap that will assist you.
Very nice looking site.
Incidently, building and testing your site using Firefox and Opera is the best way to learn proper Css and avoid building in IE as you learn CSS since it is an older Browser and IE6 and earlier doesn't do a very good job with respect to "valid" css or html. Validate your code at the w3c.org site, too. It will find the improper tags and assist in your learning. A good reference site is the w3schools site.

it looks prety good for a layout but i would say that if you are making a site for your rraphics, I wuld display more design into the layout possible a better looking background to show off your design skills. other than that its an o looking site.. but nothing impressive
