I haven't go microsoft web site a long time. Few days ago, take a look of it I found that a new magazine "Technet magazine" was presented in Technet Center. It has both online and htmlhelp downloadable format.

It's a nice idea from Microsoft. Having an online magazine is simple, cheaper and more efficient than going to a shop to buy a magazine in paper format, which includes lots of pages you don't want (on the internet, you can just browse to the relevant section you're interested in).

I agree with Lyon's post above, this online magazine is a very good idea and provides many hints and support for those who may not feel as confident using a computer. For example, I've noticed there's topics on there for improving security, helping out with the sound and there's even a little topic on there, I noticed, where Microsoft can keep you up to date and explain what the updates are/what they do etc. For example, at the moment, there is a topic within the online magazine stating that Microsoft update downloads have been moved to x64, which was one of Microsoft's recent updates.

In my opinion, this is well worth the read if you want hints or support on using the Windows operating system. It's also possible to find out things you never knew about Windows or to find quicker ways of performing the task.

I agree that its a very good idea to distribute free magazines for download. However it doesn't look good in chm format as those non-IT-techies would think it is a help file instead. I'd rather have it in PDF format, which probably be impossible, as Microsoft wouldn't be using a technology not developed by them.

Hey that's a good idea. I have not though of that. I did a search on google for chm2pdf and realised it isn't freeware. Do you know of any alternatives that converts for free?
