You could try and make a website, then put cutenews into that. As it is flat-file, I think there may be some small security holes in the software. Nevertheless, give it a shot. http://www.cutephp.com/

QUOTE Trap17's host comes with php-Nuke aswell. Try that. PhpNuke has several security issues. So i don't want to take risk. I was even warned by my Hacker friend, no to use phpNuke, becuse they are the playthings for noob hackers. QUOTE You could try and make a website, then put cutenews into that. I am not so sure about Wordpress being a content management system which you can customise to your site. I am using Wordpress for my blog and I believe you have to alter the theme to be able to use it. You can't make a news system using the same layout unless you create a skin which can be used on your main page as well as on your news area.

Try either Joomla! or Drupal. Both are quite well designed.
Drupal is extremely secure compared to many other Content Management Systems. And it can be used for News sites as it can automatically publish/unpublish at a set time. Joomla can do the same. They also both support RSS syndication. Try them. |

I agree wordpress would be your best bet to for news CMS, or you could look at some tutorials and build one from scratch, of course security would have to be work on them since most tutorials I have seen about news scripts are public.
How is cutenews look like a forum? It does for hte most part what your asking besides the search function (which you could add yourself). |

When it comes to recommend someone new script or CMS i am the last person here. Well i used Joomla, pmachine, Nucleus... well i started with joomla and i learned a lot. it was difficult for newbie to understand joomla but as you have seen i have managed to get it up and running and even it looked cool. Well it depends on your needs! if you need powerful cms for every day updated with a lot of content i would recommend you joomla, otherwise use one of the blog scripts. not very helpful but sorry that is the best i can do!
