well i like how simple it is but with all the flash animation it takes a while to load plus im on dial up so thats another reason but overall i would give it a 8 or a 9 out of 10. i just prefer tech styled websites, but for a business i guess its not really sutible.

It really took ages to load on my Wireless. I will advice you to tell your boyfriend to try designing a SPLASH WEBSITE. It is a combination of HTML and FLASH codes. But at times more of flash than HTML. It makes the pages load quicker and also gives the prospective some time to read thgru whatever you wrote in the HTML before the flash finished loading.
If he doesnt know how to do it, he can get someone to do it for him but he will definitely be charged for the services. By the way, I am also into web designing and I have a web designing company (ODOMIKE SERVICES INTL.. you can have a look at it and tell me what you think. Everything in there was designed and optimized by me. I can help your boyfriend out if he is willing to pay a small amount for the services. Here is the url www.odowebdesigns.uni.cc |

same complaint as others. too much flash.
(1) Intro page Although I am on highspeed (3MBit down), I still had to wait for the intro page to load. But probably only because of a built in delay when the flash was programmed. For all that waiting time (especially for 56kers), the intro doesn't really show me anything. The intro page could EASILY be made using HTML, animated gifs and mouseovers. 3 flags + mouseover images 3-5k jpgs = total of 18-30k. then the animated logo is around 2 second cycle and at 24 fps, that is 48 frames. Proabably 1-2k per frame making the whole file 48-96k. So the total would be around 66k-126k compared to the intro flash of 367k... (2) left menu the sounds are REALLY annoying. If you goto any professional business site, they usually will not have any sounds at all. If they do, it is VERY SUBTLE. (3) Flash in general The site should really be designed in HTML for business sites. Many people don't have flash and don't even want to install it. On the opening page, there isn't anything but a white box and no link to skip the flash (on a non flash browser). That way, non flash users cant even enter the site. The above is really functional issues. I'm not going to get into the look of the website because that is subjective. Let's just say, it didn't really appeal to me. |

Oke I can't tell about the loading speed for your site, but since it is Flash, I guess it can take a while to load. On my website I use around 35kB of images (for layout) - image galleries can take a while, since images files are cca. 120kB of lenght. Oke thats the loading part.
About layout part. I like colors, they are in good combination, so it is very eye catchy. Images are very smooth nad nicely done. My score is 7-9 out of 10. It think XHTML and CSS is a way to go. |

It has such bright colours around the buttons..companies usually use other kind of colors like grey and ligt blue... i mean calmer colors..
I also don't like the background so much.. actually i don't like the site because it's a flash site.. i don't like flash sites much, some are good and this one isn't so bad but i just don't like it very much..but anyway it looks quite nice |

Brilliant! The site is very impressive, colorful and well designed. I guess your boyfriend used Dreamweaver for the codes. The built in flashes are also beautiful. One bad thing about the flash is that they take some time to load. You can optimize them for better performance by trimming the animation down a little bit. Another thing I don’t like is the code wrote in tables. Tables are not bad in per se, but upgrading or redesigning the page may be difficult as they are not that customizable. I think a better option is to use CSS (cascading style sheets) and divs tag on the page so that simply by rewriting the CSS, you can have a new skin of the page… I guess your boyfriend is commissioned for the work, right? He deserves good remuneration for the good work…

I agree with many that the flash need to be removed, and the use of color somehow is not very comfortable, it is a well-designed web site and very good for personal sites. Since it is for a business company, it should look more simple, more professional, less contrast. If I am a customer right now looking for a designer for my site, I will probably not choose its service based on its web design.
But again, it is only my opinion. |

Honestly, it all doesn't seem very impressive to me! (Sorry to be harsh)
The layout could do some work and it'll be good. Considering that its about freelancing, it needs to be filled out in every possible way. There are a lot of empty gaps on the sides which should be filled in to give it a much more professional look. |
