you have to create a new exception for that version although it should have been done automatically when you connected for the first time. Of course interesting enough I am having the same problem with yahoo messenger when I installed on a desktop and yes I tried doing what I just mention. So most likely I am missing a step somewhere so if someone can fill in that missing step even I will appreciate it even more

ok, this happened to me. first off, go to your firewall uner program exceptions (or the equivalent) and look for msnmsgr.exe and and make sure there is an exception for it, if there is, make sure it allows it full access all of the time. if there is an exception and it allows it full access all of the time, go to windows firewall and either disable it or make an exception in it too. if this does not work, it is because your files are corrupt (this happened to me) just delete all your msn messenger files in your Program Files folder (located in My Computer/C:/Program Files) and install it again but from scratch. if that doesnt work, try just using the online version.
note: this is under the assumption you use windows, if not, then just go to the equivalent |
