happy.gif I'm being dragged into the 21st century, by my need of carrying more music around.. currently I have a mini disc, it's cool and all, but I'm limited with the amount of musik I can carry around.

So, my birthday is coming up.. and I'm planning on getting a mp3 player. I just need to figure out which one.. so far I think either Creative Zen or iPod.. The iPod mini looks really cool, but 4 gigs isn't enough for me.. ( I have a lot of music) so I'm thinking about iPod 20's, is the battery still as bad as people used to complain about? Are they better than Creative Zen's?

Any idea's on either would be good. Trying to find good unbiased information is hard.. >_> since.. Creative and Apple seem to have large number of fans.

Yes, the creative holds more different types of formats and is a radio.. but.. I can live with out these, as the majority of radio isn't actually any good in ireland.

i would go with the iPod 20's because you have lots of music and I think ipod's are more reliable..

I would check the battery life for Creative Zen & Ipod on their respective sites and see how each compares.

i myself would not get a mp3 player with so huge drive .. the reason is that i dont use up that much .. even my 512 mb is much more that enough for me .. yes .. i do have a lot of music files on my computer .. but i do not transfer all of them to my mp3 player ... you wouldnt have to time to listen to every one of them ... and the second reason is that it's hard to find a specific song in that large amount of files .. so i only transfer those songs that i like the most at that moment ...

I think an iPod would be best. If you have a lot of music, and plan on getting more for the future, a 40 GB one would be a really good idea.

Battery life has improved as well; in fact, it improved over the span of our tests, initially lasting a little more than nine and a half hours, but eventually holding for slightly less than 12 hours (as advertised) as we were wrapping up our testing.

+ An apple a day: An improved interface, better battery life, and smaller size than previous models.

i have a creative 20GB, bought it on a whim at a duty free, and so far i've been happy with it. the battery doesn't last as long as advertised, but it gets through at least 12 hours. --- i haven't tried it for longer periods. i don't know about the ipod as i'm not any srt of mac fan, but the zen touch uses a hard drive instead of flash memory, so if the ipod used flash, that would be a point in favor.

I bought a Creative and I like it a lot. Mine is a 30gb model. I got it on sale for 190$, so it was a deal. Creative's players have a better sound quality than the iPod's and most anything else for the matter.

The only reason that I don't like the iPod's is that they don't support WMA media format. I really don't want to change all of my files and lose some sound quality in the process, so the iPod wasn't worth it for me. But if you have yours in a format that the iPod's accept I suggest finding a person or a store where you can try both of them out to see which one you like better.

Why do so many people have WMA's, I personally, think Wma's are of lower sound quality than mp3, anyway, I am getting an iPod.

I do have quite a lot of music, though, I also think, I more than able to sort out a quick play list of albums to take with me places.. I will probably buy this mythical 4th generation iPod when it is released, people are saying it will play games;.. be a phone.. be wireless.. dry.gif some guy tried to say it flies in the air.. these all seem rather bizare.. >_>;

Also, I like the iPod mini's size.. dry.gif >_>
