While watching Resident Evil: Extinction, a trailer of The Golden Compass was shown. It looks interesting. Another trilogy, I believe, from New Line Cinema. And this movie comes with a huge budget of $205M.

I am yet to watch this movie.

The stars are:

Dakota Blue Richards - Lyra (the lead character)
Nicole Kidman (cold mountain & the hours) - Marisa
Eva Green (kingdom of heaven) - Serafina
Daniel Craig (casino royal)- Lord Asriel.

Has anyone of you hear read the book? Share something about this movie. (I'd want to Google it but it's best to hear it from someone on the forum.) laugh.gif

I too saw a trailer, and It looks reallly cool xD
I want to go to see the movie as soon as it goes out. But it didn't have much Impact on the trailer as other high-budget movies have. Well, I didn't care much about that xD, It actually looked to me like a really good movie....

The author of the "his dark materials"(which is story that the movie is based on); Phillip Pullman is a hardcore atheist and he hates god, in the third book, the kids kill an angel which claims he's "god"...the movie is a watered down version of the books and he tries to promote atheism to little kids and after they watch the movie, their parents might buy them the book and they will learn all about atheism(i am atheist and i'm proud of myself xD).

Great movie, the problem is its too different from the book, Im Christian and I absolutely love this movie, when other christians ask me why I go "Its fiction live with it." I suggest you read the book first, otherwise you might have absolutely no idea what is going on in the Film.
