i am using my mobile as an modem to surf internet. and also use to transfer my documets to the another computer. my mobile (Nokia Express Music) is infected by Virus. this is why it always hanged. i need a anti virus. do you guys have any idea that where can i get the free websites to download mobile anti virus .

Well I am not big into the mobile anti-virus software although getting a computer virus on your phone has to be some interesting stuff. We besides calling the maker of the phone I have found a couple of links that provide downloads to mobile anti-virus software.

How come a java phone is infected by a virus?? I hear for this the first time!
 I'd like to start using my mobile phone (Nokia 6300 - also a java phone) as a modem to my laptop, and maybe I should get an antivirus, but the links which Saint_Michael provided are for Symbian S60/UIQ phones which do get viruses, but as I said I never heard of a java phone (your xpress music nokia phone is a s40 phone as I know - a Nokia OS powered, not Symbian) infected with a virus, maybe you should upgrade the firmware of your phone http://www.nokia.co.uk/softwareupdate .Please update this topic, as it's very important as I don't want to get a virus and I want to start using my phone as a modem... |

I am not the guru concerning this topic subject, not even an expert or even near it, but i know it for sure that it is really not a good idea to use your phone as a modem to download your files from the internet to then transfer those files you download to a computer you have, that is really a bad idea, even if you have the best mobile antivirus of the mobile antivirus industry/market, you could be infecting all your computer files and everything connected to it, and that was my first concern when you wrote that you were using your phone as a modem and then to transfer all your downloads to another computer, that is really a risk, a very big risk you are taking, but you own your phone and your computer, so do what you want, that, is not my concern and it does not have anything to do with me, i just had to give you my free advice to you, from my own personal experience, and i have been a computers technician for more then 10 years, besides using computers for more then that, always and almost everyday, so i know what i am talking about.

yeah I try not to use my phone for accessing the internet because I have heard certain systems like the iphones network have vulnerabilities that can lead to a whole array of problems, as for fixing it...see if it is still under warranty and try taking it back. I know if you have Cingular/AT&T then try walking into the store, sometimes they are able to fix some problems in shop...I had one where my phone would white screen and they fixed it. As for in the future...try asking your provider what they recommend, I am sure you are not the first to have this problem.
