In 2002, the Bush Administration has announced a Missile Defence Shield, The Missile Defence Shield is new technology, and they are missiles that shoot down other missiles, not planes, or anything else really.

June 1, 2007: The USA is announced, that is will begin, to set up the Missile Defence Shield in Europe, specifically, in Poland and Czech Republic. The USA says, that they are setting them their, to protect Europe from North Korea and Iran.

Russia, feels that the Missile Defence Shield is aimed right at them, and that the USA doesn't trust them, ever since the cold war ended 17 years ago, Russia hasn't done anything to the USA, so they do not like the idea of setting up the Missile Defence Shield in the countries, right around Russia.

So, Russia has said, if the USA is to set them up, Russia will target nuclear missiles on Europe.

After that threat by Russia, Bush went to Europe, and has had many meetings, Bush currently is still in Europe, and an agreement is not set up yet.

The shields are new technology, and so they can be easily breached by decoy missiles, they don't work that good yet, and Its been told, that they will have no effect of stopping a Russian Nuke anyway.

Czech Republic, had a poll, and 60% of the people don't want it, and are scared of Russia.

It is sort of scary knowing that we all have these missles and things which we could shoot at each other at any time. Why are we making all these weapons why can we not just stop all of this why exactly do we even fight? Doesn't make any sense to me.

The Arm Race.

Everyone wants to be the best, so they make more and more weapons.

The real missiles (Nucs and Atomic) were introduces first by the USA at the end of WWII, when the USA dropped them, they never told their allies USSR about then, but they told Britain. This made the USSR angry, and so they started to build up their military, that got into the whole thing with Arm race, and into the Cold War, the Cold War ended about 16 years ago, and USSR was Russia again, and they never did anything to the USA since, but now the USA is doing this to what is believed to be to Russia, there angry, The President of Ukraine talked to Putin (Current Leader of Russia) and told the press that Putin is not joking about lunching an attack on Europe.

Also, Putin has been testing his weapons in the past few days.

Putin also proposed a plan, that is still being considered, if passed, then Putin will take his threath down, and will not lunch an attack, its still under consideration, I will let you know, when they release more information.

This has led to rised tensions reaching the level of nearly the infamous Cold War. Both the countries have to back down. Us doesn't have immediate threat of a nuclear missile attack against it and Russia is simply asserrting itself.

i'm thinking putin is mildly impressed.

(on a more serious note, i will add something more to this when i get the chance. i believe the *real* missile defense shield has its merits.)
