Windows starting to bore you like an old girlfriend? (Please, have a sense of humour wink.gif )
No worries - here's how to get your PC looking just like a Mac!
Download these babies and put the oomph back in your PC experience smile.gif

Program #1: iTunes
URL: http://www.apple.com/itunes/

Music player. Classic clean lines in minimalist iPod fashion. Drool (after you download it wink.gif ).

Program #2: Firefox
URL: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/central.html

Browser. You can apply the iPod look to Firefox with the program below.

Program #3: WindowBlinds
URL: http://www.windowblinds.net/

Download skins to make Windows toolbars, buttons, windows (pun intended, laugh y'all!) look the way you want. Couple of skins included: Longhorn, iSkin, etc.

( Longhorn is the next Windows OS; you can read more about it here )

Program(s) #4: Object Bar + Object Dock
URL: http://www.objectbar.net/ + http://www.objectdock.net/

A finder bar just like the one in a Mac, and a launcher which animates icons when you launch an application.

Program(s) #5: Rain Lender + Rain Meter
URL: http://www.ipi.fi/~rainy/index.php

Skinnable desktop To-Do and Events calendar and you can link it to Outlook. Also, find out the speed of uploads/downloads with the Rain Meter. You can also get weather reports and news.

Note: Because you're going to be running so many programs, it's best if you have at least 512MB of RAM or you're not going to be able to catch up with what we're saying on the Trap 17 shoutbox! wink.gif

Although I don’t know why you would want your “precious” (sounding like Shmeagol from The Lord of the Rings) computer to resemble a fruit? I don’t like fruits and vegetables. That’s why I have them dancing. biggrin.gif

This may not be a tutorial so this may move to another forum section. I wonder if someone can come up with a single package that can do a “face lift” for Windows? In the past, I have seen masking programs that were designed to emulate just about any other OS platform as a user wished. But in the end, the foundation is still made by Bill and his Gates of underground dwellers. Can you tell I am bitter with Microsoft?

sad.gif It takes up a lot of RAM? I take up a lot of RAM normally, so I don't want my computer to crash because of that. It's not like I'll get more RAM soon in the future sad.gif, so I might try that out months from now. I've always strived to change how Windows looks so... dry.gif

with that package (minus the itunes) you can make windows look like anything, from media center (the skin i have right now) to mac, to half life 2, they have it all or you can make your own, i love it
you can go to www.wincustomize.com to see everything they have, the ones i use are
[+]Logonstudio - changes the winxp logon screen
[+]Bootskin - changes the boot screen
[+]windowblinds - changes the windows shell
[+]iconxp - changes the default windows icons
[+]desktop x - totally changes the windows interface, but im not happy with the skins for it because most require a specific resolution.

all skins are downloadable from that site, and everything there i listed is free or is free as a trial (windowblinds, iconxp, and desktopx, are free as a limited ability trial)

if you want i can send a screenshot of my screen so you can see how they work
