They're here, they're everywhere at myspace, those ads where it's just a girls chest. Or sometimes I am seeing, like, the underwear region. lol. I'm not trying to be prude-y or anything. But these ads sometimes are for things that really have nothing to do with seeing girls in their underwear.
Maybe it's because I am a girl, and that sort of stuff doesn't really grab my attention- but do they work? Maybe it's because it's everywhere all of the time now but I am totally desensitized to it by now. My mom will walk through sometimes and see the pictures on the screen and just laugh, "what on earth are you looking at?" "oh, I am just writing a letter to cousin so-and-so. Do you want me to say hello for you?" I was wondering though, for the boys, have you become desensitized? It just amazes me what people can get away with now. LIke I said, I'm not trying to come across at all like a prude or to go off saying all this stuff should stop and be taken off all the sites. I just find it to be an interesting change in society. |

it me me laugh how advertisers like to make a science out of advertsing , stating marketing profiles , genders , lifestyles , etc.
when at the end of the day they always use the tried and tested method of grabbing 50% of the publics attention , ie males , with a bit of cleavage. |

Coming from a guy's point of view, I've learned just to zone those commercials out. We get it: Women wear bras. You never see commercials flaunting off jock straps......not that I would really want to see that in the first place....I just find them pointless....

lol, it is kinda sad that certain companies try to get attention like that, like their stuff can't be sold without women's bodyparts. I think its attracting people in the lowest way, and for men it's teh women body wich is most attractive

When it comes to advertising, sex sells. That's because, generally, most guys will have some sort of impulse to breed. And to breed, naturally, you need to have sex. That's the unfortunate fact of life. As well as that, they need to use sound too.
Fortuneately, not all adverts use that. Especially for kids, who would probably not be interested in sex. Music and other 'cool' stuff that attracts kids will be used. Advertisers will use psychology a lot, to be able to attract as many people as they can. |

I'm missing out on women in underwear? Maybe I should uninstall Adblock.

YOu know I would play on Myspace sometimes to figure stuff out and my mom goes by and see this lady on an ad and she says I'm looking at naked girls or something. like porn. lol. I can't explain that its an ad because she thinks i'm lying. lol. Gosh parents need to be updated about the internet and stupid ads that show bras and stuff.
Its just the funniest thing. I'm just playing the computer and an ad with a almost naked person comes on with like "wanna be sexy??" lol. My mom just gets rowdy. And the bad thing is the ads have to stand out on a website. So like when they come see me i change the page because i'm done reading it or something and the last thing they see is a half naked person. And they're going to ask "what are you hiding?" Its like they just happen to see that i change the page when they just came. |

QUOTE(Tyssen @ Nov 19 2005, 07:11 AM) LOL That made my girlfriend and I laughed, ahahaha... Well, to be honest, I never really liked myspace. They have funy controls and funny features. What is it anyway? A blog or a forum or a website? Or maybe 3 in 1, which they are definitely not doing a good job. Just my 2 cents |
