Desperately seeking "any key" to continue... ![]() Group: Admin Posts: 3,382 Joined: 23-April 05 From: Trap17 storage box Member No.: 6,042 |
Dear newely hosted members:
First of all, welcome to Trap17 Free Web Hosting with No Ads. When you are approved for hosting by admins you are to proceed to the Process page (also explained in your confirmation email) and activate your hosting account. It is important that you are to be patient during the account creation step. Read all direction and caution words! And let the activation script run the full length. Do not stop, go back or refresh. This will have adverse effect on your hosting experience. It is also your responsibility to report any unknown errors or questionable message during your hosting account setup. Report to admin who has approved your request. The sure sign of something went wrong during the setup is that your forum account does not reflect as [HOSTED] The script to compare your hosting account against the WHM records are run regularly to ensure all members are under the same rule: you are to contribute quality posts to gain hosting credits. These hosting credits earns the right to host for free accordingly to the credits you have gained. From time to time I will be posting updates on accounts that were dropped by termination script. I do apologize for your inconvenience but please remember that you know your status better than anyone else. Checking for Accounts not linked to Trap17 Forum davey has no account accociated to forums Proceeding to delete davey... dundun20 has no account accociated to forums Proceeding to delete dundun20... saga has no account accociated to forums Proceeding to delete saga... shizuru has no account accociated to forums Proceeding to delete shizuru... ud has no account accociated to forums Proceeding to delete ud... zeus has no account accociated to forums Proceeding to delete zeus... PMs were sent to all incorrectly set accounts but only few have replied back--which I have rectified the situation. All others have read my PM or ignored my PM thus I did not wait for their action. |

I have only one question! Why does this happen? I know that you delete them if they dont ahve post count or approval from you to open account but why does this happen to members who have all of these? I had this situation and i know it s not really great when you know that something is wrong!
anyways, thanks for keeping trap17 the best free host! |

From what I can gather, it's the request timeout between two servers. Remember, gamma (your hosting server) and forum server are two different servers.
Hosting activation is possible only when I approve the request and make the proper adjustment in forum member's account. Then the member would proceed to the Process page. After filling all necessary information box a member would click on the submit button. This is where it gets tricky. The Process page would send all information from a member to gamma WHM to start creating an account. After creating an account, it then sends instructions to change this forum member's status to [HOSTED] member group. But sometimes the time it takes to do this back and forth takes too long so either the ISP or the browser declares as "timedout" and shows "page cannot be displayed." This leads to account created but the forum status does not reflect. When WHM creates a hosting account but the forum does not show as a [HOSTED] member, the hosting credit in the forum never goes down and the member can potentially get away with hosting without contributing. So the problem could come from 1) a member not waiting the Process completely and prematurely hitting refresh, go back or closing the browser 2) browser not waiting for longer timeout and closes the connection 3) or the forum database was busy in accepting the change request. In any case, whenever a member realizes something did not go according to our guideline a member should always contact admins of this forum. |

She read my message according to my tracking but she did not reply for two days and so I initiated the drop script.
saga's account was corrected today and information PMed to this member. The issue here was that the cPanel password contained username (which the Process page notified) but the account was created nevertheless; without modifying saga's forum acocunt. This is perhaps the WHM script error. I'll address this to OpaQue immediately. file: QUOTE Processing.. Please wait!. Do not hit RELOAD or BACK..
Username Validated. Connecting to Database... Database Connection Established. Validating username and password.. Username Validated. Checking permissions.. Permission granted. Preparing data for Creating Account.. Approved for trap17.. Checking, if username is unique. Username seems to be unique. All Data Confirmed. Account information Ready. Stand-by, Trying to connect to server and create account.. This might take very long time. Please be patient... CREATING ACCOUNT... REQUEST SENT. WAITING FOR REPLY... REPLY RECIEVED. VALIDATING DATA RESULT : ACCOUNT CREATION COMPLETE. ACCOUNT IS READY ON SERVER. Finalizing process... Editing data.. Could not connect MySQL server has gone away |
