At the request of an employer, I was sent to research this virus. Lo and behold, google helped alot. But from what i found, it's a year old. It took it's effect back in 2005, and fron what I read, was pretty much squashed from all the publicity it got. Can anyone comment on this? Is it still around? My employer won't go online due to irrational fears, until I tell him otherwise.

search NYXEM here in trap17, it's basically the same. these worms come in variants and different names all the time (blame the antivirus software companies
nyxem activates on a monthly basis (every third of the month) until cleaned. |

HI! i have a question: symantec already have the protection for Kama Sutra virus? i update daily my virus defs, but im not sure if NAV protects me from Kama sutras.

Since the thread starter stated that the virus happened 1 year ago, Symantec and other anti-virus companies should have patched and added definations to their products by now. So you need not worry much. All you need to do is just continue updating your anti-virus software. That should be sure that your computer is protected from most viruses.

I saw this on CNN a week or two ago. CNN! Supposedly it was supposed to acitavte on a set date, im pretty sure it alreasy passed... Apparently it spreads by emails that claim to have porn but are virused instead.

Apparently it spreads by emails that claim to have porn but are virused instead. that's the part I was wondering about... why my employer was sooo worried about it... wth was he doing? lol but yea, it's supposed to active every friday or something like that. And anyone who is opening porno emails should just expect malware to be in it. |
